What's your tire size?
And Why?
I have 700x23s on right now
They are fast, but starting to feeling like razorblades. I have a feeling I wouldn't have so many truing problems if I used a wider tire.
I usually run 700x25 but I have a 23 up front right now. I'm not having any truing problems but the ride is noticeable rougher and faster.
I've been riding the continental GP s up front. They're 700x23 but I haven't truing problems. I think the back is 700x25 but its usually what ever I can get for cheap so I the sizing doesn't matter to me.
I have 700x25's on. If I wasn't doing fast group rides I'd probably have 700x30's on. Seriously.
Just a note about my truing problems:
I believe it's not just the thin tire, but also my soft rims. So don't anyone worry.
700X23 127psi
what walton said. or if im riding randonneurs they only go down to 28s but they dont feel that wide.
27x1&1/4 up front, and a 700x23 out back.
It's a conversion; I don't see the point of pouring funds into an $80 fixed-gear bicycle, as doing so would subtract from my 20-year Colnago Master X-Light fund.
I like between 23's and 28's. Higher quality tires and not doing a ridiculous PSI level can smoothen out the ride of 700x23's pretty good atleast for me. All depends on terrain and conditions though. I ride whatever I can get for free that fits the rear clearance of bikes first and foremost, and buy nice stuff for the front.
Ditto on the 700x23....But I round up to 130psi
Speed....not ride quailty
700x26 on soma everwears that i just put on saturday. got them for basically nothing from a friend. no problems yet. I like the max psi also. does having 23's instead of 25 or 27s really make that much of a difference in speed or is it just placebo?
I think it's more of a PSI issue.
With 23s you HAVE to run a higher PSI to avoid pinches, whereas with a 26 you can let the PSI drop.
And you know the physics too
more rubber on road = more drag
Vittoria randoneurs run smaller the 28s are more like 25-26
700x20 on the front, 700x23 in the back
700x23 up front, 700x26 in back.
700x20 in the front and 700x23 in the back. Both Rubinos usually around 110psi (pump them to 120 and assume they deflate a little). Will switch both to be 700x23 soon.
700x22c tubular at 95 PSI (f) 100 PSI (r)
Very comfortable.
700x23c at 110psi.
but i want a thicker rear tire.
700x25s are cush for everyday riding. 700x22s for racing.
700x23 @120psi
Honestly, Since I started skidding, I like anything outta the freebox,
today I got a 700x23 Stelvio that was within 50 miles of being brand new
and now I will shred it without remorse
Oh yeah, 8 barres ..what ever psi 8 barres is. dang frenchie pump
1 bar = ~14 psi
for the last 5-6 months i've ridden a Vittoria Rubino Pro 700x23 (i'm on my second. the first got destroyed. this one has an amazing array of holes, scuffs, and splits that used to scare me but its held up brilliantly through a lot of shit i've put it through)
And always : Vittoria Randonneur 700x28 on the back. Love them to death. i can't tell you how many friends looked at it and said "man, thats gonna blow out any minute" but honestly you can ride them to death (skidding as much as you want) and they keep going and going.
walton:Vittoria randoneurs run smaller the 28s are more like 25-26
if i understand your statement..... no.
From my experience they are fat and flat.
always, and good fucking luck finding a smaller rando if they even exist, gotta say my clearance with a 28 on a bareknuckle is frightiningly close.
randos rule.
and i use conti ultra sports.
:] (front) and when i don't have a rando on the back.
