There is a big difference between just curving the tt and doing it for a reason. All the sprint track bikes do it so they can gave the tt and the seatstays be one piece of carbon, and support more of the load over the entire structure. I have no idea why you would curve the tt without having it be one piece with the stays.

well, yamaguchi makes bikes with curved round-section seat tubes as well. they don't actually offer an aero advantage, but they look cool. i think this is the same thing.

except a lot of those times the seatube is curved to be able to bring the rear wheel further in shortening the wheelbase, like the seatube cutouts on pista concept/ftp/most tt bikes. I think.

Yes, a curved seat tube is for making the chainstays shorter and having room for the wheel. On the steel bikes posted the curved top tube seems to have more to do with styling. I don't know enough about engineering to say that if a steel bike had a curved top tube and curved stays, that it would dissipate stress the same way it would on a carbon fiber frame, for the reason THOR4LIFE has stated. Maybe if it were two curved tubes from the dropout up the headtube, you would get the same cantilever effect as you would on a carbon fiber frame.

    STOLEN

  1.

The cranks on that Vanilla are Sweetwings. Easily some of the lightest cranks around, and 4130 to boot.
