OK, I'm bored and hell of annoying...

In fact, 22% of Oregon fluoridates it's water, and what's more, if "Healthy People 2010" had it's way, we would be very close to 75%. What's interesting about this objective is that scientific evidence shows that ingestion of fluoride, that is, systemic rather than local application of fluoride, has been shown to degrade bone integrity, increase the incidence of bone fracture injury, have neuro-toxic effects such as cognitive disabilities, cause arteriosclerosis (hardening of arteries), and the list goes on.

The science that shows health benefits from systemic fluoride application comes from poorly conducted experiments- on another fluoride compound. What's being dumped into your drinking water today is silicofluoride, a nasty byproduct of the refining process for phosphates, depleted uranium, and refining of steel and aluminum. That is to say, our military-industrial complex waste is being disposed of cheaply, not only being dumped into a nearby river, but right into our sacred water supply. What was originally tested on humans (after grave warnings from concerned science about cumulative affects, of which we had no studies even in animals) was a still toxic but milder compound, sodium fluoride, another byproduct of the corrupt war machine.

Fluoride is toxic in so many ways it's hard to pin down- especially in a lawsuit against a zinc mill. But what made it harder? The zinc mill could have the defense that fluoride is so widespread in the community that no one place could be pinned down for polluting our environment. Workers in the mill who worked closely with fluoride were denied compensation when they stiffened and hurt in their joints, lost their lung capacity, became impotent, and many more complaints. Because scientists knew the toxic substance was so overwhelming to the systems of even young athletic men, the jobs working closely with fluoride were reserved for black men only. The outward signs of skin rashes were less publicly visible on darker skin.

Though Portland isn't the part of Oregon that Fluoridates it's water, nearby still means it's in our food, in our plastics, and many other compounds, and it is linked with degenerative diseases we see on the rise in these last 55 years of "healthy teeth".

Industrialized, modern nations that continue to treat fluoride as toxic to humans, plants and animals, have similar decreases in cavities in the last 55 years as reported by our government in defense of the practice of fluoridating our water.

Fluoride ingestion has also been associated with increased lead uptake in the bodies and brains of children.

I think I agree with that blog, though I am not sure why he is complaining about beaver and duck fans in portland.. it's a hell of a lot worse in say, corvallis or eugene, or even salem because they don't have college sports teams of their own so they have to pick sides.
