    Hey people,
I know a bunch of screen printers and was curious if anyone wanted shirts, if I can swing it for cheap.

So, under the approval of the founder ( alex want to weigh in on this? ) I'd love to get a few shirts made on a trial run.

Also, any cool design ideas? I'm a "designer" but normally do web or really stylized stuff.

    Input?!?

  2.

I could try and draw something, but I suck at drawing. I'd be down to buy one though, if the price is right. I know you can get American Apparel (stereotypical, I know, but they fit me, so that my my selfish vote) t-shirts in bulk for cheap.

Screen printer and designer here. But time has not been on my side for the last 2 weeks. I had to finish a design and print a poster this weekend and it just ate up my time (besides riding the De Ronde on Sat). I have a t-shirt and a poster printing set up. Id be down for shirts, stickers and maybe some 1 color flyers for alley cats.

American Apparel wholesale is way cheaper than their MSRP, but still over twice that of other larger brands even if you buy by the dozens. But I love their quality and fit, but you end up paying for it.

Maybe the best way to do this is have an open design call for entries, and have it due by a certain date. I function better with hard dates, otherwise itll keep getting pushed to the back burner.

Oh and spoke cards are super easy, just inkjet them and have kinkos laminate them to hand out at events. Could make a bunch cheap then leave the design on the website as a PDF for anyone who wants to DIY.

I think this should wait until the site is bigger. Hopefully in a few weeks we will be able to start a contest and have all the local designers duke it out in a graphical death match. It would be sweet to have a shirt to wear for racing that is totally different then your typical team kit.

  3.

Surely we can wait a bit.

I think it might be cool to make just a spoke card for now. Cause I see riders all over and would love to give them something to know the site is here.

  4.

Yeah, we should wait on the shirts until there are enough people to make this economically feasible. I don't mind paying a bit extra for quality, but I suppose it depends on how much extra.

Spoke cards might be cool because they will A) spread the word of the site and B) allow members to identify each other. Maybe we could upload a template so members could put their forum names on the cards and laminate themselves, and then have generic ones to hand out at events.

  5.

I don't rock spoke cards but I'd rock a sticker or twenty

  6.

an idea. maybe without block ms paint letters and some color and perhaps a little quality?

Hm. I was hoping to find a little more time to work before I showed anything, cause I only have one concept drawn out digitally. But hey, why not.

These are rather conservative from a traditional logo stand point. But I think the cog is pretty much the most simple deduction of what separates these bikes versus all others. Of course the cog possibly wont stand out in a crowd of other urban fixed logos. I think with a simple logo you can then build upon it and have something like crazy stickers and spoke cards with a simple logo sign off. I really liked the idea of combining the cog with the rings of a tree somehow it would signify Portland and fixed gear really well, but havent found the time to execute it yet.

  7.

i really like the first one with the black background.

I'm a big fan of the first logo on the white background.

I was gonna say "yeah, as long as it doesn't have a cog in it", then I scrolled down. Good designs, but that whole cog thing has probably seen its day.

Unfortunately, I couldn't graphic design my way out of a Kinkos, so you can take my critique as the half-drunk ramblings of somebody who should just shut up and do the dishes. Which is exactly what they are.

I can get behind nunchuckjetfighterskeleton, though.

  8.

I figured it represented our core values...

bikes, skeletons, ninjas, and going fast.

  9.

I thought yung jeezy's design was, well, better than sex. So i loosely copied it onto some mylar i had lying around. and then sprayed it with some leftover spray paint from my all-too-short foray into stenciling. I know this shirt looks awful. I never claimed any skill. (just my $.02 here)I like the cog idea, but I too think it's kinda played out. but now I can officially claim to be the first person with a PDXfixed shirt. ahem, firstsies. also, I can get better pictures, my camera's just outta battery and all i have is a grainy built-in camera.

That shirt is beyond perfect. Good work.

    You take paypal?

  11.

I have a ton of rattlecan if you need any supplies too.

  12.

    I'm loving the shirt.

But i'm loving that ninja-skeleton even more. I've never raced in anything so I don't have spoke cards, but that thing is too cool to not put in my wheels (plus they make you go faster, right?)
    Take out the .com though.

    Max for prez.

  13.

Thank you! I too love the super-sonic skeleton (could we call it 'Shelly the super-sonic skele'?). If people just want some quick n' dirty shirts for the interim, I can make as many as need be. I can get the shirts out of pocket (don't be expectin' no quality er nuthin') and it sounds like max has the paint. just tell me your size and I'll go get some more tees en masse.

  14.

wow, i feel so, so, i dont know. i dont think ive ever had someone wear one of my designs before. its great!

  15.

oh yeah, in the way of paint and stencil skills. i have lots of both.

If anyone wants to play with design, go for it. Or totally reboot it if you want.

And while I know everyone on here is real nice about everything, I just wanted to mention that if anyone thinks the spoke cards are stupid because they are misrepresenting something, then I'm sorry. But I like them. And no, I'm not a messenger. Sorry about that too.
Just remember the next time you start to talk about the "meaning of life" after a few beers that I studied philosophy professionally, but I still think you should get your go at it. Without me telling you whats off limits.

I don't think theres a hatred for BF, I read a lot of stuff on there.

If you know what you're getting into, it's not a bad place.

  19.

And I don't know if I love that spoke card because it's accurate portrayal of me, or if its because of the haunting PBR design.

Wow! Lots of great stuff on here guys! The Skeleton blindfolded facing away gets another vote! I only have one recommendation, to make the cog/rear hub smaller to make it a little more realistic. Maybe tighten up and/or make the geometry a bit more aggressive if you want to get real specific. jmho.

I too was a hater of the Jeezy logo, but it does look good on cotton!

    Keep the creative juices flowing!

cosign to that one. Dig the Jeezy logo too and there's definitely something to be said for blindfolded nunchuck skeleton, but I just got an idear so I'll see if I can flair something up right quick...

edit...well, tried to keep skull face and nunchucks and use the guy from the streetcar tracks sign but it didn't really translate. Here it is anyway just because I've been messing with it for a bit...

All of the designs are cool, but in the end it depends on how pdxfixed wants to be viewed. Is it a forum consisting of nunchuck wielding, bike riding skeletons, or more urban artisty design saavy types? I don't know maybe it's all of them
