You guys are so serious. I barely ride the HED3, I mounted the new Rando to see if 28Cs would clear my Wound Up on what is my spare wheel. (It does with 2mm). I haven't ridden the Rando yet, it's going on the rear.

  3.

min you know im just jealous . i ride a trispoke like erryday to bug people. even when it's windy.

Best thing about riding Tri Spokes in the city: seeing your reflection in the mirrored windows (yeah Doug you know what I'm talkin bout, lower Sandy Blvd!)
Worst thing about riding Tri Spokes in the city: being blown into the wrong lane of traffic on Burnside bridge.

  4.

    i'll plus that a million

  5.

oh and the helicopter whoop whoop whoop on a windless day humming down springwater at 30mph is ok too.

Yup I'll agree with all points. The real reason why I don't ride it everyday is because it's not as laterally stiff as the 32-spoke wheel and as a result doesn't handle nearly as well. I read a study this week which backs my feelings.

    http://www.rouesartisanales.over-blog.com/article-23159755.html

Note that the HED3 is among the most laterally flexible wheel tested by Roues Artisanales.

I ride pretty fast brakeless in gnarly traffic so I want maximum precision in steering. Let's face it we are all wearing pants when riding Heds so aerodynamics is kind of a joke lost in the pursuit of ballin.

    yes. touche.

  7.

i have a respectable wheelset too, some suzue discoes lace with dt comps to open pros soon to be polished open pros, but right now jerrys old aeroheads. they ride way nice, but they hardly get the love from the ladies.

I guess part of the appeal is that if I get a used one I can probably sell it for exactly what I bought it for.

    I'll look around

I feel the same about dougs bike. Trispokes are rad, but look silly on beautifully hand crafted steel frames. IMO.

yeah i'll try to get one tomorrow when it's sunny again. 23's aren't that tight... you can get up to a 28 in the front. the cdale fork is tighter...
[cite] scarface#1:[/cite]what size are those tires,like 28's?
alien... 25 rear 23 front.
cx bike... 23 rear 25 front. why the difference in sizing? just happened to be which tires were laying around the garage and usable.

I bought the frame & fork for $75 at Citybikes about 5 years ago. What are they worth now?

its worth whatever people are willing to pay. if some guy creams his pants every time he sees an arrotrack and has been waiting years to buy one, yeah, you can probably snag a cool 4 bills off him.

  18.

i was just saying $75 sounds like a nice price.
