"letting it stretch" won't be good and isn't reliable. change the gearing.

Chains stretch, not in the sense that the plates become longer. But in the sense that bushings wear out and elongate the chain that way. You can spend a lot of money on a chain with nice bushings, lube it in all the right places, and keep it clean but after enough time on the road (or dirt) it will indeed stretch. In all my years of cycling and wrenching I have never heard of a chain that will never stretch ever.

mig: I know that a stretched chain is bad, I actually threw on a different cog and its all good now. I decided I'd rather do it right then do it lazy.

haha yeah i took it from that side cause the decals are only on one side..for some reason that seemed important. It's actually just an origin 8 ring, it came with the cranks (sugino xd). it's set up right now as 43-17 which is definitely different from the 47-17 im used to, but I live at the top of a gnarly hill so its actually kinda nice. And in regards to the Lejuene, i had the chainline real short for a while not sure exactly what, I recently added a few links. Im still putting the pake together, not quite what i want yet.
