i just realized that chatroulette in french would be "cat roulette." someone should start an another site called "le chat roulette" and it could just be another random cat picture generator. just a thought.
I think i've uncovered a homeless-stolen bike-camp. Over on se Water under the morrison bridge by portland storage too. I have a storage space there, and across the street are some shady motherfuckers always staring me and my bike down so i take it inside with me. But not just that, there's fuckin tons of bike crap all over the place, and some bikes hidden under blankets & tarps and shit.
I found this on google. A little fucked up,but kinda funny.

Jeff, that's where the dudes who stole my bike off my porch were spotted by Charles. Sketch city.
How many are there?
Not enough to take us all down. Let's get 'em
I will bring a night stick.
Night Train vs. night stick
haha bums in portland have nicer bikes than i do.
motherfucker down there on an s works mountain bike.
other day a bum rolled up to my work to return bottles and cans on this thing

That is so fucked.
holy fuck. someone needs to take that back from him. just give him like 50 bucks.
How do you know he didn't buy it himself by saving up all that money from returning cans?
i mean, it's only like 80,000 cans
i me this lady once that she could easily make $700 a month canning.

That'd be my guess too. What a terrible job.

Nah, it's true. I used to work the can return at the freddies on burnside. If they're industrious they CAN do it. If you see a shopping cart filled up, with 3-4 garbage bags tied to the outside and filled, that's ~$20. Some folks would be able to make 2 of those trips per day ($40). Times 20 (workdays in a month) = $800.
Of course they openly admitted to me they'd blow it all on gambling or drugs asap and their family was hungry. Sad.
Guys spanging next to the highway make WAY more than the average person.

This is true. Whenever I don't have cash and don't want to go to the bank I just walk out to the freeway exit for Vaughn st. and get a few bucks.
Dude who owns Recyclery owes a person I know dad some 3000 drrah

True story. Years ago a friend and I went traveling and had to fly signs for gas money. Made 100 dollars in 45 minutes in Madison, WI. It's ridiculous, I'm thinking of not working again, it's not like I get health insurance anyway.
So my bike got stolen and I figure I should post something about it.
It has a red frame and forks with nothing on them but the Portland State logo on the head tube. It also has red handle bars and black Oury grips on it. It's a fixie. It was stolen in SE near 58th and Foster. If anyone finds it I'll give them some money or something. The bike's not really worth much but I don't really have much money to buy a new one.

Damn that is in my area, I will keep an eye out.

oh crackhead hipster..... if you're curious where to look for him, he lurks in the powells area of Burnside and 10th on occasion
Best nickname ever
Just a little curious here, what do yien'z think is better. I've always used kryptonite's but the OnGuard seems a bit beefier/better.
OR

I like on guard's 4 keys because I always seem to lose my spare w/ kryptonites but supposedly my ex gf's on guard broke when she dropped it while riding which doesn't make sense but it happened.
I don't know from a reliability standpoint but I own both. The U on the OnGuard is just a wee bit longer (like 1/8" or 3/16") than the Kryptonite. That's nice because I can lock my front wheel, frame and post with OnGuard but cannot get all 3 with the Kryptonite.
Anyone who could and intends to break one could break both. Not many people fuck with locks in this city. Leaving your bike locked up outside during sleeping time may be another story. I.e., either one.
Sweet, thanks for the info. I just bought a new OnGuard for $36.29. Instead of the Krypto's $55.00 on higher price.
The OnGuard is a really good lock. I've had mine for a while now and had no issues.
already jumped on it.
Moving to Portland in a couple weeks from a small town with little bike theft. Just curious, does anyone ever have luck recovering their stolen bikes?
I've never had a bike stolen and have never known anyone to have their bike stolen (properly lock up what you care about).
This may give you more information:

No, but these are the people who get drunk and leave their bikes on front lawns. This is not New York City; bike theft is not a huge problem, i.e., bums don't have power tools. Lock your shit and you'll be fine (overnight is a different story, but why would you?). Good luck with the move :)

theft is pretty low here, but to assume that everyone who gets shit stolen is at fault is pretty fucking ignorant. and i have recovered a stolen bike with help from this forum and craigslist. (see page 12 of this thread)
Good to know, thanks for the info!
My bad.
