i liked my leader minus the fact that riding it felt like a tin can, but if you like the feel of aluminum then its a good bike.

somas are completely over priced for also bad frames.

I would disagree with your assessment of Soma. It is neither a 'bad frame' nor is it over priced for what you get. I've got two - a Juice 29er Mtn bike & a Rush. I am totally and completely happy with both of them. I know a bunch of folks riding Somas that have been happy for what they have gotten for the money - a relatively low cost well built frame that is not a boat anchor like a Surly.

I would totally recommend Soma to anyone on a relative budget.

its just the information that i was told from about 6 bike shops. not one of them had anything good to say about the soma rush frames as far as the tubing, quality, geometry, and price. dean and peter from 21st especially were disapproving of it and i would trust them over any other mechanic around. thats why you generally see those frames carried in shops

This is funny, I have a soma rush and I got that free tune up for 21st from footdown.

Guess I'll bring in my road bike instead.

    Max is NOW!:

What's the general feeling on the steamroller?
    Anyone have one?

    Worth $400?

These are great all-around bikes and I really love them but I personally wouldn't buy one because:

    1) Too heavy to race
    2) Cross check is way more versatile

Perfect though if you're never planning on racing, rinding long distances, or riding on trails

Soma changed tubing a year ago. The new Tange stuff is much better and lighter. I've been hammering on mine(Rush: 1 racing season at Tabor, lots and lots of commuting, training rides, etc.) I can only speak from personal experience, and I have no complaints. It is WAY better than the Fuji track I had previously. I also really like my Juice and a good friend of mine rides a Smoothie which he also likes alot.

i guy i know rides a rush and he seems to like it a lot.

    Max is NOW!:

    Anyone?

I'm looking to spend up to $300, but the cheaper the frame, the better the components I can afford.

I've looked at the Pake, Kilo TT and Kona.

All pretty neat, but still. Any others?

Personally, i like my kilo TT alot. I have no complaints about it, and the price is great. But will probally end up getting a new frame later this summer when i have the money, a bareknuckle would be nice....

Except most of the stuff is going to come off of my frame that just broke. the only thing ill need to replace will be the seat post.

the cross check is dope.. very versitile. i am in the market to get a more traditinal track frame , the only isues is the cross check is a cross bike and has more relaxed geometry. but it is mostllikly the most versitile bike out hther.
