This looks like fun, a spring fixed gear cyclocross series. This isn't in Portland but it totally should be. Maybe next year?

That bike rules. I want to ride it on Mt. Hood.

Someone should get something like that going together this year. I'm thinking 90 percent off-road, actual cyclocross style course with the usual like gravel, sand, stairs, stuff to hop over... and all fixed.

There was a grasstrack series late last summer and there is the Annual N.O.I.S.E. ride. The grasstrack series required you to NOT have a handbrake, and the N.O.I.S.E. ride is for fixed and singlespeed. The N.O.I.S.E. ride has went to the Superfund site by trail, out to the Grotto, and out to a cyclocross practice area near the 84 freeway.

Once again NYC is catching up with Portland, like they did when they discovered bike polo.

Thanks alex. Not quite a bike, but pretty soon. It's funny, but I've had the urge to do this for a long time. I just happen to have a track frame with room for cx tires (!?) and I plan on putting it in the dirt in the next couple of weeks.

You were actually able to get those tires on without stretching the triangle? What kind of frame is that?
