Anyone know of anywhere (bars, strip clubs, your mom's house) that will be showing Le Tour?
Let's drink shandys and watch that bitch.
Someones house?
um..yours? I'm sure your pops is cool with a bunch of twenty somthing scums hoggin his remote and drinking his beers.
just kidding. not my place.
We used to have a shitload of Heineken, used to....
Roller races while watching the last 1k of the race. Start at a steady spin and at 500m hit the gas.

Headbutts encouraged

Oh, man! I'm so stoked to watch the Tour; it will be part of my ease-back-into-bikes therapy. I fear that without this crucial intermediary step I will simply drop dead from joy overload the moment I get back on a bike, haha.
I like the fact that they cut out the time bouns aspect of it all. Although I fear that it's not gonna be that great of a race
It's gonna be a weird race for sure.
Whatever. Bikes on TV is cool.
Right. But where? Where are we going to see this "bikes on tv"?
The TV, of course! Your choice.
Edit- Sorry for mocking you back... it was only because you said Where are we going to see this "bikes on tv"? I hope you find a place to watch. :)
Did you read the first post?
You all know that VS (32 on cable) shows it live (usually around 5am), and then replayes it pretty much all day.
Let me be more clear.
I don't have a tv. I don't have cable. I want to sit in a place where I can buy beer and fried food and watch the tour.
Any ideas?
Dont most bars show VS?
I watched the preview today
WTF is VS? I mean.. i get that it's channel 32.. but to me.. channel 32 is the WB. which to most people is the CW.. which to most people is channel.. 3?
god! so confusing.. can't i just be eight years old again... watching cartoons on saturday mornings.. and the disney afternoon..
No TV, thus no cable, thus, I will be keeping up wih the Tour via the interwebs. I don't know how I feel about that.
I have a television and also cable, I am well equipped for the tour.
Then you should invite me over to watch it.
my couch is smaller than my tv, sorry duder
I sit on the floor? It will be difficult to keep up with the tour from the internets when Krysten and I don't even have it.
>.<
Might be worth to check if WSCN is showing any of it.
first stage was pretty good
zelah:my couch is smaller than my tv, sorry duder
it is not a couch. it is a wide child's chair.
so is lance racing? is that why everyone is so hyped?
jerome is on point go lance
yung jeezy pdx:so is lance racing? is that why everyone is so hyped?
lance retired 3 years ago foolio.
OH ! i thought fool was on like his fourth win or something
Didn't he win 7 consecutive?
Yeah, just Wiki'd it; 99-05. Hella record-breaking, apparently.
Before him wasn't it Eddie Mercks? Or am I imagining that?
Has anyone ever wondered how few people would know what the tour is if Lance hadn't wond so many damn times? I mean in the US anyway.
Also, hella funny in Breaking Away when Dave meets the french exchange student who doesn't know what the tour is. THAT WOULD NEVER HAPPEN.
I heard Armstrong's a dick.
Try Seven...haha

didn't eddie merckx win the tour like 8 times on a fixie?
Yeah. But it wasn't consecutive. I think he won 5 consecutively and then won 3 more over the course of his career. Something like that. Was he riding a fixed gear? I'm not sure. Was Eddie Merckx the previous consecutive win holder? I feel like there was someone else in between him and Lance. Maybe?
why are we talking about road bikes, ugh. DUMB!
Merckx won 5 times on a road bike, fixed gears where ridden in pre-WWII TDFs. Merckx is the only rider to ever win the King of the Mountains, Points (sprinters) and Yellow Jersey in a single TDF, in 1969.
Miguel Indurain and Lance Armstrong are the only riders to win 5 or more consecutive (Lance won 7).

Troof. I've met him. He and Gandi were pricks. (100 e-cool points to whoever gets that reference)
remember those pictures of him riding tall bikes in austin?
zelah:remember those pictures of him riding tall bikes in austin?
I was just about to dig those up, haha!
He seems like a cool dude to have a beer with.

I hear Robin Williams has an Indy Fab...
Let's at least spell his name correctly; G-A-N-D-H-I.
I didnt even know I got cable with the Tour, its on a network called Vs. which I never knew existed. My wife stumbled across it at 5:30 when she couldnt sleep. Im stoked.
If you get Versus the schedule is here:

You are now my hero.
And props to my man Thor Hushovd winning stage 2 today. At least one of us got a good race in today
My vote for Fabian Cacellera or Alexandre Valvede as the GC contenders this year.
Cancellera doesn't have a chance. He's probably the most powerful rider in the tour but he can't climb nearly as well is needed to be a contender. Valverde looks good as long as he can keep consistent, he's had difficulties in the past. He might be peaking too early. Others are only a few seconds off but are just getting in to full racing shape while Valverde is going hard from day one and for what? It would be nice to see him do well all three weeks but its hard to be on top form for the whole tour.
gnarly first stage yesterday tons of crashes and the sprints to the finish have been sick. to bad quickstep didnt murder today..favzies
