never did it. seemed unlikely that i'd really end up in a situation where i'd regret not having done so. curious about how to get a replacement key if i ever needed one though...do you have to register your lock in order to get an extra key?

i think so, cause I was browsing their site and in the registration they ask for the number off your keys and some other standard info.

I've seen first hand what it takes to actually get through a mini krypto. my buddies key broke in his and he called a locksmith to try and get it extracted out, couldn't they needed to take an angle grinder to it for like ten minutes with sparks flying like 5 feet in every direction. it was super intense, it made me have a lot more faith in my lock.

I'm pretty trusting of my lock. But on the flip side:

I'm sure we've all seen this.

They come with two keys. So don' t carry both of them. I didn't register mine, but i wrote down the key numbers just in case. I carry my key and doug's key.. and he carries his and mine. Though if you use a cable lock or chain, youre out of luck - like in the video. Especially the cable locks from dollar tree. I bet you could cut those with scissors.

Word, Amy. Mine came with three keys; I keep one with my other keys, one is tied to my messenger bag, and the third is kept in a safe place. I don't foresee a problem.
