they look like they'd slip a lot. and or stretch.

    no. they would not stretch.

but overall it doesnt make sense. does not look any more secure, would have a hard time tightening that to your foot because its so wide.. two narrow straps makes more sense to secure a foot due to how our feet are shaped ATMO.

you are probably right, but they still look cool.

Anyone have opinions on power grips? I was thinking about trying em out. Actually probably not power grips, maybe foot belts, same concept though.

yeah, I guess more than anything I just feel like if it aint broke dont fix it. If toshi double straps (or other nice straps) are not enough retention for you just go clipless. I have a clipless set up but I prefer my plastic cages+toshi dubs, I got mine on the cheap new but IMO theyre even worth the money buying them new, they feel great.

I have a clipless setup I ride sometimes during the summer, I think I need better pedals than the entry level shamano spd's. I have been riding mks pedals and cages for years, quality for cheap. I was thinking about toshi, but they seem SO expensive and I'm not sure I can justify the cost when the all city straps I use are fine for a year of wear before I need to get new ones. I was thinking it might be sweet to ride power grips/footbelts with odyssey pedals for freestyle riding because there isn't a cage to weight the pedal funny.

  1.

the other day I beefed and cracked the top of my hipbone, every time I lean on it or turn wrong it feels like getting stabbed (thanks HRD!) but when I hit the ground I was holding my bike straight up in the air, haha. I was blacked out but apparently I explained it as, "I thought tony was a fly lady so I had to whip some skids to get in her pants, but then it was just FUCKIN TONY".

Also yesterday we were stuck in my friend's apartment for four hours while a big bust was going down. this crazy tweaker lady got arrested after falling down some stairs. There were too many cops (and their damn dogs) for comfort, but the neighbor came over and kept talking about how he wanted to blow treez.

Also though, what I REALLY LOVE today

I considered knights, but I'm burned out on the ds's constant stream of srpg releases. Rondo of swords and Valkyrie profile: CotP were decent but srpgs are too tedious for me.

Getting a pair of Mavic Open Pros (new) for $129. Running over to the PSU bike co-op and learning how to lace them up and measure hubs. Only managed to lace the front in the time I had.. tomorrow, I'll hopefully learn how to finish the rest of it!

Today I love the fact that I've pretty much purchased all of the parts for my road bike and most are almost here even! Road bike should be done in a little more than a week and a half (just in time to move out...) and the best part about it all is the fact I didn't spend as much as I thought I was going to and I might even have enough money to spend on a getting a mountain bike finally. Anyone know about anything good? I am trying to spend 400$, maybe $500. What I really want is a SS hard tail. Besides that... Um... I don't even know where to look for MTBs in Portland, nor where to ride them (sans Forest Park which I hear is shitty).

the problems with feetbelts, from what I've read, is that they are not easily adjustable. With the hold fast you can quickly adjust for different shoes or whatever. I donno, it's an interesting concept to me because I have been riding mks gr-9's and clips for ages.
