Livestrong charity ride taking off from the Beaverton Nike campus on June 29th.
Anyone planning on going?
I am riding it fixed with mah lady. I rode the 70 miler last year in torrential downpour. I am glad they moved it to June (October last year.)
I am fairly sure that Lance probably doped. So yeah, Liveweak indeed.
I rode with Lance last year for a bit and listened to him talk at the sponsorship dinner where I sat a table away from him, Chris Carmichael, Alberto Salazar and some rich people.
He may have a fondness for the blonde floozies, but he's not a doper.
I'm volunteering for this. I guess I'm riding the 100 mile course at a slow pace and cheering people on, fixing flats, etc...
min - are you going to be on the fillmore? I'll look out for you
Nice dude! My wife will be on a white Fuji. I am doing only 40 miles this time since she is new to cycling and has only done 25 miles at a go.
My company is sponsoring me and some other people.

Man, I think everyone who could hang in the pack those years was doping.
I do enough work for Nike youd think I could get a way into this for free. Unfortunately I do very little work for the Livestrong group. Hm. We'll see.
I don't think I'll be riding but I may stop by the campus to check it out, I'll keep an eye out for everyone.
There was one day on campus where the first 1000 employees could register free but that's it, so I would imagine gettin' in free is pretty tough.
Is lance going to be there? Kate Hudson?
ooh kate does it for me.

I agree. The people Lance was beating in those years, a lot of them have either admitted to doping or been caught.
MIN you should've asked him about Dr. Michele Ferrari...
krystenr:ooh kate does it for me.
Lance does it for me... :)
BIKES do it for me.

Haha, to each his own, baby.

I'll put my name on that.
So yeah. I'm definitely volunteering for this. Getting a ton of free tubes and riding the 100 mile course fixing flats. I'll be wearing a Portland Velo kit with some sort of volunteer sash on. Say hi if you see me.
Are you with Portland Velo now?
Yep. The girlfriend has been with them for years and after being pestered for months i finally acquiesced. They are a great group
Portland Velo seems to have a good team structure with a good coach because I see them excercising strategic team tactics on races.
No structure or coach, just a bunch of people trying to have fun... But yeah, we've gotten called out on the OBRA list for blocking during some road races.
This ride was pretty fun -- ended up doing about 130 miles. The route was great. Nice climb up Bald Peak and then around Hagg Lake. Funny how many people do centuries on Zipp tubulars and try to use race tactics at 16mph :)
hot day for that kind of mileage man!! I had a great ride as well and wife surprised me with her 19 mph average on her first big ride! (40mi)
hey nothing wrong with zipp tubulars on charity rides!!
Dude⦠I bet Lance totally won that charity ride. Haha. JK.
How was the Felt on such a long ride Alex?
