I'd like to do a conversion bike.

Start with a decent 700c wheeled 80's road bike, centurion, nishiki etc.. it's gotta be all stock.

were gonna show everyone how to:

suss out a decent chainline

re-space the rear hub and spokes

flop and chop

remove extraneous shit (brakes, reflectors, kickstand etc..)

install a cartridge BB and some single chainwheel cranks

new(er) tires, tubes and proper cloth rimstrip

doug style harlequin cloth bar tape job in matching two -tone

anything else we can think of...

like a "proper" suicide hub using the patented locktite+rotafixing+jbweld technique

etc...

so keep your eyes peeled for the bike we need. remember, 700c wheels are a must have. pass on anything else, unless you have a 700c set that needs the re-spacing done as well.

ideally a new guy (someone wanting a SS/FG) would find said bike in his size, buy it and we'd do the rest (i have tires, tubes, tape, BB cartridges, cranks but I'd need a BMX freewheel or fixie cog for le suicide hub)

less ideal would be having to buy this bike, I have too many bikes already.

we could also film this for max's bike yourself...just edit in comrade's and skid's voice overs explaning what were doing.

if we have to buy this bike, I can kick in $50...who else has some dough on it? with a $125-150 budget we should get a decent enough bike in the end to flip it on CL for $300 easy.
