I'm down for doing this without alcohol. It doesn't matter to me either way.
Yeah, I wasnt so disappointed with the turn out before, as much as the lack of a cohesive format. I mean I love casually drinking, but alcohol does kind of get in the way of learning. Maybe drinks AFTER wrenching for those into it and eligible.
That and some project that gets more people involved would be good. Like we had wanted to make a conversion before. Or maybe fully building up someone bike all proper would be good. Dont get me wrong, im super thankful for the crank assistance and wheel help, but I can see why it wouldnt hold everyone else's interest.
Oh, and keep the rollers there. Im gonna master those bitches next time if some of you take 5 for a smoke break. :)
In summary, can we all agree: Wrench time does not equal party time.
agreed
if yall aren't fucked up i'm not going, i can't stand being around people who aren't drinking
well, lets just put this idea in the pocket for the time being. CCC does the tuesday nite drop in thats a good place to get bike repair instruction from the likes of me. River city has a weds nite class. so does meticon and mississipi bikes. also peep the events calendar in the back of "OREGON CYCLING" there a shit ton of stuff in there.
I'm trying to get this other thing going, but if you need help or advice with something specific, whisper me and maybe you can come to my basement shop.
I have a frame, that is in need of a few parts. Pretty much, I have the frame, fork, headset, stem, seat, and some shitty wheels. I was thinking of presenting that as the next wrench night project. Let me know if you guys are interested. It would have to be picked up from St. Johns, or I'd have to get dropped off with it....

Do you have a messenger bag? Strap that shit up, homie.
If you had two people with bags you could haul all that. Or if one of you had a trailer.
Ive hauled a frame on my bag before with plenty of space inside for parts. Then if someone else strapped on the wheels youd be set. On person could take it all, but then id be worried about scratching stuff.
I'm without a messenger bag, or a trailer. I pretty much ride with a fanny pack, and that's it. Strapping would be a challenge. My brother has a truck though, and I'm sure I could shamboozle him into dropping it wherever.
I will need a bottom bracket, a seat post, a 17t cog (or something that would work well with a 48), and some pedals to complete the bike. The cranks are square taper.
