I weighed my beater bike with a hanger scale at the LBS today.
Came out to 19.75lb. Pretty decent for cheap ass 4130 steel and "decent" parts.
http://www.velospace.org/node/7099 is the bike I weighed...
I'm hoping to build my "nice bike" (Pista Concept) around the 15/16lb range...
Where are you guys at on weights?
PS bathroom scale method for weighing is inaccurate, just an FYI.
~23lbs... mad beater status.
My road bike is about 16.5lbs with tubular wheels, with everyday wheels it more like 17.5lbs
Track bike is about 16.5lbs.
Road bike is an Orbea Lobular with carbon seatstays. Dura ace 9 with white industries hubs laced to mavic gel 280s
Track bike is an Uno Pista Keirn Frame with Dure ace EX and 7400 stuff. Pro Max laced to Open Pro wheelset.
My Jake the Snake cross bike was about 20 pounds with Campy Centaur.
Dura Ace 9 and tubies will be fitted for this coming season. Should get much lighter. 17.5lbs, maybe.
The tesch is about 18 pounds with the old Mavic disk on. Not real light at all, but stupid stiff
Oh yeah, feel free to post what kind of bike it is, brand, components etc.
my pista is about 22 i think. ill have to weigh it again tomorrow at work to get an accurate reading.
If I remember right my Jamis Sputnik was 17.4 when I weighed it at RCB one day.
Im curious how much the Land Shark weighs.
I weighed mine before I replaced all the parts that were on it when I bought it. Then, it was about 23 lbs. I have to re-weigh it now. I put a lot nicer/lighter parts on it since I bought it.
CX bike 17.4lbs with tubulars and lots of drilled out shiznit, "If its to heavy get out the dremmel and drill it"
I am sure my keirin frame is retardedly light, with its tubulars and silly thin columbus tubing. Not quite sure where to weigh it though.
The work bike- I don't really care. Deep-vs and phils plus the generic steel means I am pushing a heavy bike.
scott, there's a hanger scale at the recyclery. did you get a full NJS bike then?
stumptown:scott, there's a hanger scale at the recyclery. did you get a full NJS bike then?
Not really close to me, but thats good to know.
I did go out of my way to make it mostly njs (read-$$$). Would not recommend for most people. My track wheels are not njs, I guess gold 36 hole suzue disco hubs are not exactly standard- the keirin circuit has not been effected by the bling factor. Everything else though has that little logo.
Still need track shoes though before I will take serious pictures. I am going to go slotted cleats, and double straps.
Without hijacking the thread, buy why do you want to go with slotted and straps? Why not something like a SPD-R with 1 strap? gonne be wayyyy cheaper than finding a pair of DA 7400s
i feel weird going to recyclery to weigh my bike. i'm sure that even with the 36 spoke wheelset the new bike's getting it'll still be a pound or two lighter than the mercier.
with the rolf front wheel and the old fork my leader was 18 lbs 2 oz. have to re weigh it since i got more lighter CF stuff on it now, my cranks are bmx heavy ass slugs and of course deep vees are tank status

River City has a scale hanging from the stairs. Just walk in with your bike, hook the saddle to the scale, read the weight and walk out. You probably won't even have to talk to any sales people, their to busy talking 40 somethings into buying $7k Serottas.
I was at River City yesterday trying to make the decision between Cannondale Capo and Lemond Filmore.
Stock 58 Capo was 19.5 lbs.
Stock 57 Lemond Filmore was 22.5 lbs.
Ended up not getting either as my dog got really sick yesterday. Maybe this coming week though.
My Fillmore is 18.9 pounds. Tubular. Carbon fork. Front brake only. Heavy Brooks.
my fuji track (stock) in around 19 lbs i believe.
My mixte is 872.36 lbs.
