I think today's commute was one of my worst. All my stuff was still wet from my ride last night. Riding on Beaverton Hillsdale I ran over a dead squirrel. On Barbur I got a rear flat so I had to remove the wheel with dead squirrel bits on it. When filling up my tire my co2 exploded everywhere so I was left walking. Tons of people who passed me stopped to help but no one had a pump on them so I ended up walking all the way to Bike Central. 300 meters out of Bike Central I flatted again because I must have left some of the glass in my wheel and ended up just walking all the way into work.
Oh my god. You are clearly having a shitty bike day. I'm sorry.
Oh noes. Alex. That sucks, man. I'm channeling some positive energy your way!
Running over dead animals is shitty. I was riding directly behind Justin on Springwater the other night when he decapitated a chipmunk and the head flew straight at my front wheel. Traumatized the fuck out of me.

Some squirrel tried to commit suicide in front of my bike last week. I think there is something wrong with the squirrels in this town.
My commute was okay. Im a little sore from last night. I was bitching at the sky a bit. Dumb rain. Doesnt it know its almost June?
What happened to your Co2 Alex? What adaptor do you have? Since your commute is so long it may be worth it to haul 2 cartridges.
There are just some days the bike gods just seem to be against you.
i showed up for work grumpy about the #@^$in weather. the riding part was fun though because I was skidding like mad.
my ride today was fun. climb hills!
yesterdays was lame, I showed up only to get in an argument with my "boss" about him wanting me to go to swing shift and me telling him no because there no busses home from there after 9pm ...I ended up quitting/getting fired/let go.
todays was fine, I rode with Amy as it's her first day back. We stopped at all my homies workplaces to get free food/coffee/music etc..then on to magic garden to peep some boobies!
thank the good lord for boobies, cure for any known depressive state...
hit me up if you know of a jobby job..i'm looking again.

oh man that's horrible.
I saw a record amount of roadkill the other day on my way to work, like 6 squished whatevers. horrible.
I was leaving my house with a wheel strapped to my back and got stuck in the door, the wheel got stuck between the frame of the main door and the crack of the screen door. it was quite humoring. had a good ride today though.
sorry to hear that though alex, that happened to me riding the springwater one time. and it was super late so no busses or nothing it sucked.
I always feel good after riding into work. It's the days that I don't ride, that I feel sluggish and crappy.
ride to work was nice, ride to school was not

i agree with this wholeheartedly.... if i ever have to take the bus, i feel like a lump on a log all day
and riding home is just pure awesomeness
it was fine, i've been taking this little shortcut path into psu instead of taking columbia downtown, the way back was a little hectic cause i needed to pick up some jeans from the tailor but got out of work a little late
My commute lasted 9 1/2 Hr and 10 min for lunch sweet!

Ugh, yeah, it was not fun. Now I'm afraid of squirrels and even birds when I'm riding, haha.
its weird... i woke up and had no breakfast food, so i did my normal 4/5 mile ride into work... breakfast apparently makes a big difference
hope everyone has a great friday and weekend
brianpatrickk:its weird... i woke up and had no breakfast food, so i did my normal 4/5 mile ride into work... breakfast apparently makes a big difference
Oh, totally. I have to have food in my tummy.
gotta say my commute sucks every morning, faced with a big hill at 7am, something about 7am and climbing 900ft doesn't do it for me. Up Thompson, Up Montgomery, Up Fairview, Up through the Zoo, it's all the same hill. Some would say it makes you strong.............some.
sharky:My commute lasted 9 1/2 Hr and 10 min for lunch sweet!
I'm curious as to how many miles you put in? have you ever gauged it?
It changes up every day, my commute is 9miles at work on an easy day add 25-30 on a hard day 35-40. When i worked in Philly they would send us on missions that were about 10 miles out of town thru the most ghetto areas that you had to hall ass thru. Those were the golden years.
^^^ that sounds awesome/crazy. it raining on june 1st, that's not a good sign.

Sucks, but not unlike Portland, tho; it's usually consistently sunny starting in July.
I got owned by some stairs today, ahh shit i'll ride down them.. got jacked in the middle section caused me to endo over the bars.. LOL bike flew like a bird.
both hands and knee, but no scars.. :(

I love the fact that you're riding to school or work or whatever half asleep and are like "fuck it, i'm riding down those stairs"
I wasn't very happy to put on my rain jacket this morning.
Haha, riding down stairs fixed? Impressive.
Yesterday my coach convinced me to flip my wheel around and rock the single speed for a week to give my knees a little break from training. I didn't see the need for putting a rear brake on, I assumed the front brake would be sufficient. Well, bombing down W Burnside today, the rain decided to make it very hard for the front brake to stop me. In other words, my brand new white Castelli cycling shorts? Not so white anymore.
Yeah. Rain jackets in june are lame.
I dont know whether it is worse to put on rain pants and get sweaty, or to say f*ck it and just get wet.
you're wet from something either way haha
riding to work was awesome!!!! it's like a 3 mile ride if I'm working my main job nothing major but I usually ride downtown now then head back over to get in some miles.
My commute home last night was kinda fun. I had to ride my polo bike home. Was spinning like 48 gear inches (or something around there) the whole way. Amazingly I passed most everyone on my route even though I probably capped out at like 15mph with that gearing.
^^^Oh, man. I love it!
my commute today was good, and dry!
Ha! You suckers and your "jobs".
I have to say that now, because in about a week the men in black suits will be knocking on my door wanting me to get a job.
[cite] gabrielamadeus:[/cite] the men in black
Galaxy defenders, huh?

I laughed out loud.
LOL'd!?
zacp:LOL'd!?
ROFL!
my commute involved getting a ticket for not having a break.
awesome.
nothing better than standing downtown in the rain with a bag full of important documents that are at risk of getting wet while a cop writes you a ticket.
good thing is my bike looks new, so i was able to pull off the "i just picked it up and i'm planning on getting a break" lie. So all i have to do is bring in a picture of my bike with a break to my court date and the cop said he promised he would take care of it. haha...

Damn girl, getting tickets for riding brakeless? You're legit as fuck now.
yeah props for keeping it real.
There was two cops in Ladd's this morning. I blew the stop sign and was on my brakeless polo bike again. Thankfully one was talking to a ped on one side and one was up a street with a car pulled over. Got lucky again. Of all places to enforce traffic. Has anything ever bad happened at Ladds? Seriously, very rarely feel endangered in that area. Or do they just like the doughnuts at the coffee shop there a lot?
well rain again :) so wet
Heavy winds going over the broadway bridge, west to east, almost knocked me down
Yep, cops target Ladds quite a bit. Rich people complain and the cops come running.
Have yet to commute to work but did ride over to Stumptown for my official coffee training on Tuesday. So nice. Wish I worked closer.
today consisted of ridin in a car to school cause i was late. then riding in a car to wilsonville for a little cube time. no bikes today
