Hey
I hate to use this forum for this reason, but I've kind of run out of other resources. I've been checking the paper and craigslist, and a few other sites, but I can't find much. I'm moving back out to Portland on June 27th. I don't have anything for sure lined up as far as a roommate or housing goes, I've just been looking at a few really pricey studios downtown. It would be really awesome if someone needs a roommate or know someone who needs one, so let me know!
Cool!
Thanks!

Not sure if Kev, Max, and Krysten are still looking, but that would be a sickk house.
Oh dang, thanks for that info. Any of you guys still need a roommate?
hudsong:Oh dang, thanks for that info. Any of you guys still need a roommate?
Max is actually no longer looking to move, and Keven is a little up in the air about it. I, however, am trying to find roommates and a house close-in NE or SE. Let me know if you're interested. I don't want to pay more than $550 a month.
i might be in the market for a new place in the next few months. i might be getting a place by myself unless someone incredibly awesome is trying to jam.
Krysten: do you have aim or something that we could maybe have a chat on? $550 is def my limit as well, and I was looking in the NE/SE area as well. My screenname is hudsonlgardner

I'm a school computer, can't download AIM. You can text message me, however. I'll whisper you my number.
My house needs a roomate, we put an add on craigslist. We need someone on june 1st. close in NE.
i, as well will be looking for a new roommate/place to stay, maybe we'll find a new place together around the end of august.
HIT IT UP!
Yeah I think im going to be living in a temp studio down town to get started out, but I'll be looking to move once I meet more people and get to know what the fuck is up lol. I'm clueless!
krystenr, i'm down to look for a place. i don't want to pay more than 400 for a room. and not too far out, either. but other than that, the sky is open.
well, it's actually pretty cloudy ride now, but you catch my drift.
Haha, yeah, I'm looking for pretty close in NE. SE would be fine too, but I'd prefer the former. I'm looking at more like $450-500 a month.
Well, it looks like my place is going to be on SW broadway between clay and columbia. And I've got a job too, all from 1,600 miles away. Anyone have tips for a portland noobie that they could share? Avoid the tri met busses and street car tracks are about all I know so far.
what? who told you to avoid tri met? before i rode my sweet track bike around everywhere thats how i got around. tri met is the best. the max and the bus combined can pretty much take you anywhere.
I mean getting hit by them.
public transportation is for pussies and 15 year olds
Public transportation is actually really amazing and for those people that don't ride bikes, I appreciate that they use it as opposed to driving a car. Plus Portland has one of the best public transportation systems in the country. Most European countries model their systems after ours.
*sigh* Watch out Hudsong, that's in my neck of the woods, don't walk around after 9pm unless you want your throat slit and your wallet taken. Max will tell you, one time we were riding the Met, Trimet for nubs, and Max pulls out a switchblade on this elderly lade and I yell out, "wanna taste my glory you dried up old whore!" Unfortunately we caught the attention of the bus driver and Max put the knife away but we didn't even get kicked off for that shit.
Is NOrth PDX still get? I was living there before and everyone was like dude, that's so ghetto.
If you want to sublet for a few months (2-3) let me know. I'm most likely moving back to Mt. Hood area for summer snowboarding. Around MLK and Fremont.
Yeah, just saw that you found another place. If anyone is interested let me know. Place is pretty chill.
nopo is hella gentrified now, you'd have to go all the way to colombia villa to see any gang fights now. especially since the yellow line max went in in 2003.
also tri-met is the shit. almost as good as muni as far as coverage
i got woodlawn bloods all up in my hood. hella shootings.
white folks:also tri-met is the shit. almost as good as muni as far as coverage
True that is has similar coverage to Muni, but Muni has shitty coverage for a city of that size.
i almost got hit by a max once. it was all caught on bro cam luckily.
I've heard people in Portland call things "ghetto"
They should really go to a real ghetto.
Or the fucking high desert.
There's no ghetto here. And being black doesn't make you a gang member.
Effing yuppies.
i'm gonna piggyback off this thread.
my girlfriend and i just moved here (well, not HERE as in portland but here as in this general area on the west coast) like a month ago from atlanta. we are now looking for PREFERABLY a house to rent in the NW/N/NE area semi-close to downtown, though we wouldn't mind a loft type arrangement either. we have a dog and two cats and we would like to have another dog so dog friendly places are where it's at. we are not opposed to having a roommate or MAYBE two. if anyone knows of anything or hears of anything could you please let me know? we've scoured craigslist, rent.com type sites and even just driven around for hours on end in giant criss cross patterns about this wonderful city. between the two of us we can afford about $800 a month in rent.
thanks yall!
PS: we're avid cyclists. like, i'd rather not have to drive ANYWHERE once i find a good place to move into.
You are asking for a hell of a lot, to be honest.
place to rent
portland
about $800 a month
dog friendly
doesn't seem like a lot to me. maybe i just type too much.
-NW/N/NE (not just portland, as you so generally put it on round two)
-house or loft
-2 people
-1 dog, 2 cats, want another dog
-maybe 1-2 other roommates
-$800 a month
-somewhere where you can easily bike from
seems like a lot to me
Krysten is right. If you managed to find an apartment that allowed two people in that price range, the market is so competitive that the manager or owner would probably give preference to a single person without any pets. Sorry if this is harsh; we try to keep it real.
Girl knows what's up.
krystenr:-NW/N/NE (not just portland, as you so generally put it on round two)
Krysten don't fuck around.
your round two was still a little more filled out than my round two. whatever. that's about the attitude i've gotten from most people in this city so far.
what? I directly quoted your post...if you aren't looking for things, don't post them, idiot
^^^real talk
Trill talk.
smelly vagina talk
but oh so true
thebenreilly:smelly vagina talk
they're only smelly cause we ride so much
thebenreilly:your round two was still a little more filled out than my round two. whatever. that's about the attitude i've gotten from most people in this city so far.
it's not attitude you're getting, it's people in town telling you that you're tryna catch a unicorn with an eternal flask of whiskey tied around its neck. son, it ain't happening
yeah it will, you just have to know how to ask and where to look. i find one in every city i live in. i suppose i'm just asking the wrong people. or maybe the wrong questions in this city.
oh shit this board gettin' heated. Ain't nuthin' like internet beef to get you started out on the right foot in your new hometown, eh Mr. Reilly?
No beef. Dude's just defending his position. Props; don't mind the pessimists.
In the eternal words of Journey... Don't stop believin'!
Damn, Brian's gotta be optimistic in every thread.
I don't care what the guy is looking for, I'm confused by how I got it incorrectly when I was very obviously restating him.
yeah because if something said on the intarwebz can get you off on the wrong foot in a new town then maybe some of the people in the new town have something they need to check. like, get the fuck out of your chair and onto your bike and stop trying to argue with people who are just trying to find a place to live.
or should i say OMG I JUST GOT VOTED OFF THE ISLAND BY THE ISLAND0RZ BEFORE I WAS EVER EVEN ON IT.
but it doesn't matter anyway because i just got three leads in about four hours and talked to real live people twice about openings coming up in august and september. and BSCHULTZ is the only one invited over to drink beer and play rock band and shave my balls with me for backing me up. oh and JENNX because she's been nothing but help.
Dude, I'm totally there, balls and all. But trust me on this- we're really really really nice in real life; I promise.
im a huge dick in real life, if i were any of you i would rejoice in this last month and a half you have without me and then avoid me like the plague come last week of august
Well, except for Kevin. Be sure not to look directly into his eyes.

Aw fuck now I'm made of stone. FUXXXXXXX!!!!111!
whisper me to undo the transformation
(you have to look at my cock)
