Ah, Corvallis... Oregon's second-best college town for the last 140 years.

Funny how many people have no idea where it is and have never been there (myself included). That might change for a good artist, though.

I always saw the freeway signs, and all I could think about was Corban Dallas from 5th element.

Nope. Streched the normal way the 1st go around, but then had to take everything out for the army. Now I scalpeled up a 6-8 to 00, then to 5/8 which will sink down to 3/4. They basically make a 5-6mm cut in the lobe to "make room" for the jewlery. Way more radical and extreem, but saves all that money that I dont have for jewlery....

I had 00s for about a year that I stretched with tapers and what not. Whole process only took me maybe four months, which is too fast, really. Anyway, I took them out about a year ago and they pretty much went back to normal. They're obviously a little larger than I'd like them to look but I can wear normal earrings and people usually don't notice a size difference.

In case anyone was wondering I didn't end up getting the ink. I bought a Playstation3 instead. Next paycheck maybe. It'll be either Duck Hunt or a big pile of dripping stencil skulls. Or a bleeding heart. Or a boombox. Or The Wave dunno whatever.

    What does this mean?

Its the first letters from "gam zeh ya'avor" which means "This too shall pass"

Anyway, I think I've decided to not go with the hebrew and get a different quote. I'm resurrecting this thread from the dead 'cause I need a local shop/artist recommendation, hopefully someone who specializes in small text.

Atlas Tattoo on Mississippi. I've gone to Jerry a couple times but his wait times are long, Scott and Lou are pretty rad also.

Atlas. Make an appointment, throw down a deposit and tell them to call you when someone cancels. Sometime you get lucky and get in there sooner, best thing is you don't end up with a tattoo that could be better.

I have roosters tattooed where most people have songbirds on their chest below the collarbones, and a big skull/butterfly(the wings are spiderweb) tattooed in the middle of my chest. Getting tattooed on my sternum was the worst tattoo pain I have ever had.

I've had all my tattoos done in Eugene, except for one I got here in portland, its real tiny though. I got it at deluxe on 79th and powell. I want to get my sleeve finished soon and get a back piece started and I can't decide if I want calf tattoos or not. I'd be covered. Right now all of my tattoos are on my arms.

I'm digging the work of Dan and Lewis at Atlas. How long of a wait time is long in the tattoo business? I'm leaving in a month, and while I don't think it'll take more than an hour or two to get it done, I don't really want to get it done right before I leave. Don't think college dorms and a welcome week of parties are the cleanest place to heal...

I guess these are questions I could ask them, but I'm just trying to go in is knowledgeable as possible.

  7.

Sometimes 3 weeks, sometimes 3 months. depends on their schedules. Just roll through there, they're pretty mellow.

if this is real, the debate over coolest tattoo in this forum is over. no contest.

that one's pretty sweet, but i also have a friend who has tattoos in the same spot, but with a tear on one hand and a star on the other, for ease of showing people his mood at the moment.

    "what's up, wes?"
*holding tear up next to his eye*
    "aww, that sucks, what's wrong?"

Nice Jenn--thanks for posting a pic. Here's my most recent. Haven't been able to get a great shot yet but it's a St. Christopher on the right shin (see Tom Waits--Frank's Wild Years).
