So the Kilo TT is supposed to take a 27.0 seat post. I just picked up a middle of the road used seat post from ccc. 27.0. too big. Anyone else out there have seat post fit issues with their Kilo TT? Using 26.8's perhaps?
talk to krystenr
She says her 27.0 fits perfectly.
How much big? Sand paper mabye? Or you could just try krystenr's post
Prob the post, did you measure?
i mean, the post is stamped 27.0, but i do have my trusty digital calipers right here... and it reads 26.98.
sometimes on the cheaper steel bikes, they will substitute tube sizes in fabrication, used to happen a lot on pake framesets, so just go to your LBS and they have a metal gauge that will tell you exactly what seatpost size you need, since there re about 12 (or more) standard sizes, in increments of .2 mm.
hmmm
bad frame maybe.
prolly not bad, just different than published spec.
grease it and then just start shoving it in, smack it a few times and it should loosen up

This thread is about BIKES... ahem.
just whisper to your bike about phil woods and Montreal rims it's gonna get, should go in :)
I have one and I'm using a 25.4 post with a shim to put it at 27.0 and so far so good.
remeasure?

Never Gonna Give You Up ftw
yeah I am having a seat post issue. i think its the frame, my post measures 27.0 on the money and it's like finger banging an year old trying to get this post in there..
how about the head set cups? I can't get my trusty diacompe BMX set to fit...
I had to get mine milled out today for it to fit (I think that's the right term). City Bikes got the cups in there for me and said it'd only be like $5 (i'm picking the bike up tomorrow).
I just bought a 26.8 seat post today. works out better, as this one's way nicer. I think I got all the temp parts, and can ride it tomorrow, until all the nice stuff comes in the mail next week.
Oh yeah, the 26.8 fits. perfect. like a dreeeeeam!
hey are you building you bike or are you having someone do it? i should have all my parts together end of this week if you wanna do a build jam. i think "freebird" might be helpin me out, but i really want to be involved with the labor and stuff so should be fun.
yeah shit im almost done! I'm hoping to ride it to work today. lemme know when yr working on yours!

Your bike looked flyyyy today. Diggin the white.
we got Amy's TT together yesterday and its super sweet. Turned out nice, used a 68x113 shimano BB and the chainline is money. I did have to cut down the seat post 3" to get to the proper insertion depth.
Other than Amy not being used to toe overlap all went well.
Nice to see you all out yesterday
Holler at me if you wanna ride or drink today.

Good to see you yesterday, too! I'm a little worried about the toe overlap on mine, to be honest. I've ridden Alex's TT enough to know that it annoys the shit out of me.
I'm definitely down for bike rides and drinks. When/where you thinking?
50cms have a crazy amount of overlap, you just train your body to know what's up when turning slow.
and yeah zac, your bike looks great

Yeah. Boooo.
We should re-name this board to "PDX Kilo TT et al."
Thanks guys. getting used to track geometry vs road geometry is weird. I'm liking it more and more though.
bschultz:We should re-name this board to "PDX Kilo TT et al."
haha yeah, brokestatus
et al:
i ordered a green one today! 50cms!
Yeah, boy.
Got the rest of your build bits?
i got the complete one, so i suppose so! things will get tested out and exchanged and improved over time, yep. should be good for my budget, experience and ability, and hopefully all three grow with time.
haha i do have a random front wheel coming though. old roval tubular thats on a fedex truck somewhere, $1 special on ebay.

I remember seeing that on Ebay. Nice pick up... even better one for $1!
ha - the listing had no mention of size, which probably explained the lack of competition. even when i asked him the first time, the seller gave me the rim dimensions (something millimeters by somethign millimeters) but not the actual size. only with a few hours to go did the auction say anything about being a 700c.
even if it was a 650, teh barspinzzz

or tailwhipz!
i actually saw a video of a dude doing a trackbike tailwhip
link? i'd go nuts if i saw that.
and by the way, the 26.8 post is good but the kilo needs a 30.0 clamp so don't forget that either.
ther was another one but i cant find it.
COMING TUESDAY COMING TUESDAY COMING TUESDAY
i'm a little excited.
haha yesterday i noticed the 50cm was out of stock - good thing i got it in time. then i go check again today, no sizes left in between 47 and 60 - jeez. i need to add some sweet streamers and a bell or something to make mine stand out from the others.
(of course, i've only seen one two other kilos in "real life" ever, one after a concert in philly and the other was amy's, but still. gotta impress the internets)
pdxfixed kids with kilo tts:
-me
-jonah
-amy
-zac
-alex
i'm sure they're more. fisher's got a spicer but it's the same frame basically.
I also have a kilo tt... and love it!
me soon. maybe.
dude you just like built a bike not too long ago.
i want a new frame though. im not too happy with the pake
So stupid
