is going well. My wife and I are staying at the Jupiter, which is having a show or something as I type this. So far the city has been great, as always, but we've seen more chopped up bike frames than we could count. What the hell is up with that?! All that was left of the one I saw near Old Town/Chinatown was about 60% of a hacked up frame. Sad, sad, sad. We also saw on the news that a rider was in a hit-and-run involving a thief in a car, which also sucks. Aside from this nuttyness, all is going well. I've seen a few bikes around town that I've seen on here (think I saw Alex [neverender] 's bike outside of La Pigeon Friday night?) which for whatever reason is exciting, like celeb-spotting hahaha. Anyway, this is pointless so uhm, yeah. I'll be here 'til Wednesday but I'm bikeless so I won't be joining in on the fun. Take care and maybe I'll see you around.

welcome to portland. that area over by the Jupiter is a bad place to leave yer bike locked. Super burnside blight area. the jupiter hotel itself used to be the raunchiest seediest hotel this side of 82nd ave. I stayed there when I moved back to oregon in 1999. have you made it around to any shops? even though the owner gets my two thumbs down, "Bike Central" on 1st ave just across the river has nice kit.
and just so you know, all those lurky guys at the coffee shop across the street, grendels...just watch your stuff, they hang out in there to sell pills to the good folks from the methadone clinic 2 blocks up burnside.
You should see more of the area, come up to my Hood, laurelhurst. ladds addition is super nice too. just about anywhere cept lower burnside on both sides of the river and way super deep NE, like out in columbia villa.
well, welcome. if you promise to ride your bike and take public transportation, please, think about staying.
just kidding
