I started riding bikes again when I moved downtown, and I almost had forgotten how to ride since I hadn't been on a bike in almost 10 years. I got my first fixed gear a year ago and I love it, I was influenced by Sheldon Brown's website and all the portland courier kids. I like riding pieced-together fixies, because I am too scared to have a nice bike stolen. viva frankenstein bikes!

Hello my name is James i'm a designer, I moved to pdx recently from Chicago, I love bikes, I used to work in a bike shop, wrenching and doing bike things. I've ridden and raced road, mountain and last season cross. I'll be racing cross this coming season, but not sure what my plans are for road or track. I have a small collection of bikes, nothing fancy but it's good to feel the way different stuff rides. I'm currently working my way to a new track bike and will prolly only ride it on the track.
I have a large cycle commute to work everyday and I'm thinking of re-gearing my old single speed so I can make the commute up and over the hills. Bikes are a massive part of my life and it burdens me when I have to drive my car, even when my legs are fried and burnt out.
I'm sure i'll be asking some questions here and feel free to ask me some.
