Yeah I heard about that wheel. trispoke, mm? i hope it was cheap... actually if it's a specialized, i may be very angry with your seller. I got absolutely shafted by this ornery guy selling some beautiful wheels ( white campangolo disc? bellisimo!) a while back.

And so it begins… Can we use real sentences and not over emphasize points with all caps and multiple exclamation points? And really, leet speak and 'z's? Is this 2000? I realize this is the internet and you can do what you want. But lets try to keep the literacy at a middle school level or above.
I think the post was a joke.
agreed
plus those are exclamation points...
Not to be a jerk, but I just dont wanna see this place get over run with leet speak…
For some reason I say apostrophe even in real life, even though I know its an exclamation point. Oh well, there are worse things to mix up.

Yea, it's a neat little shop...kinda wish it was a bit closer to me (I live/work around Irvington mostly.
Still worth the trek out there to see those guys.
Should have done this a LONG time ago but I'm Danny. I ride a white Trek 1.2 Road Bike, and a '06 Pista. You've probably seen me either at PSU, on 21st so if you see a disproportional fellow riding around, holler.
Word
Hey TOA3t the good thing about that ALPHA is that I have only seen a couple since being on the west coast, does Frankenstein bikes still sell them, or has he run out of stock? The guy that run's that shop is seriously INSANE.

Hi. I'm Mike and I'm a bike commuter (5 miles each way). Currently my ride is an early eighties Stumpjumper, but I am looking at getting into fixed riding. I am nursing a broken wrist, but when that is all healed I have my eyes on the Cannondale Capo. Anyone ridden it? Is there something else I should be talked into? This will be my first new bike in almost fifteen years, and I am really excited.
Mike
Welcome Mike. Just checked out the Cannondale, very nice. Let use know if you have any questions.
Thanks d3fold. I looked into getting a bike built up for me at Meticon, as they are right around the corner from my house. Unfortunately I don't know much at all about components. I figure that the Cannondale might be a bit more mass market, but at least I know that all the parts should work well together.

i hear people like how the ride a lot. their just kinda ugly. but the welds as always are really pretty.
since thats all that matters

If you have the cash and you're newer to fixed gear, thats a really decent buy.
A lot of people would urge you to go track, but that can be too sudden for some. Especially because with a bike like the cannondale, if you end up not liking riding fixed (which does happen), you have the flip-flop to switch it over to SS.
Hey your in the neighborhood. I'm at 52nd and Clinton soon to be 57th and Rhone. I ride down Clinton and across the Ross Island for a commute what about you.
I'm at 50th and Rhone. I ride down Clinton to the Hawthorne and work downtown. It's a pretty easy ride in, and I get a little workout on the way home.
Thanks for the input. So far I have only been able to talk to bike sales guys about what I want, and I know that they all just want to sell a bike. (can't blame 'em, but can't trust 'em either)
You can trust Seth at Meticon. He's effing legit.
Late introduction...
I'm Chris, 25, married, etc. I frequent Portland often and can't wait to ride it out. Below is my 80's(late/early?) Schwinn with a Bianchi front wheel, a Mavic rear wheel, minute rust spots here and there, nothing fancy. Fixed conversion and paint coming soon, currently no extra $$$. Take care.

yeah, that conversion should go really easy. that would the ideal candidate for Max's idea of a how-to-go-FGSS instructable.
the drive train is perfect, you'd need a hub or rear wheel, cog, lockring and a chain and chain wheel. toss in some know-how and a little elbow grease. don't forget Max on lens duty. done deal.
I could even do a how-to on respacing the rear wheel spoking and axle spacing, that is if it's a screw-on and not a freehub.
better late then never...
