    Yea, yea... ...You could organize the Bike related, into other main topics: Commuters, tips & tricks, tirck riders, Track, touring...etc.

    Or just scroll down to find what you want, like we do now?

    i totally agree with alot that has been said.
    voting for another moderator,
    maybe vote buttons for sinking a thread...
    and i think it's really the responsibility of lots of the members to keep this board positive and intellectual.
    i don't think there have been too many problems, and i apologize for any unneccessary jargon that has been typed by my fingers, but overall, this is the most encouraging board i've ever seen, and i think that everybody on here feels a really positive vibe, and is able to find true biking community.

    alex, pick like 5 or so members to be voted as a second moderator on a separate thread, that would rule.
    the idea of being a moderator is cool, and i'm interested, but i think that i would vote

    haha i agree...
    i personally think max helps out alot, so that is why he deserves the title and responsibilities that go with it.
    and as for popularity contest, it would definitely suck if that's what it became.

    and keven, as for coming out and playing, that, sadly, won't be happening until late august, as i'm stuck in southern california until then.

    I think the fewer mods the better. so far it doesn't look like there's been a need for any more than the one.

    definitely not a need for 6 more.

    The roster thread shows a good amount of unique users but there seems to be the same core posters in each thread, so while we have a lot of people signed up, not a lot of people are regularly posting.

    As for what shouldn't be allowed. I don't think off-bike-topic things really would detract from the quality of the board. Blatant bigotry should be dealt with firmly though.

    i think the general consensus was to vote for maybe one more mod, from a list of about 5 or 6...just to get a little bit of balance. i doubt anyone has a problem with alex, but as the board grows, it'd be better to have another mod. i also think we can all agree that 6 mods is a bit ridiculous, so status: partial agreement!

    Yep this weekend I'm going to:

    - put together a voting thread for 1 or 2 more mods
    - create a "rules" and "how to moderate" post
    - figure out how to create a moderator "role" in the forum software
    - create a sticky for people to point things out to mods, talk about general "running the board" type stuff
    - add a flickr sidebar
    - figure out what won in the logo contest

    Sorry this stuff is taking so long....

    I see what you mean but I've actually been pleasantly surprised by how many new names I see online and how many new people posting that I see. I think gradually people become more comfortable with posting and then after meeting some people then become "regular posters" - I think it's pretty cool and it works out well.
