    does anyone here ride in forest park in the unpaved part?
    i did it today and did not see any other track bikes.
    I had a blast. riding fixed in the woods.

    I ride fixed on leif erikson all the time. i like turning left on saltzman and riding that up to skyline. you can go down skyline for a ways and then bomb back down through washington park.

    the straight up fireroads are really fun fixed alot of spinning. what gear do you guys run? i run 42/18...

    I flat pretty quickly when I bomb down the fireroads so I've generally stopped doing that unless I'm on my mountain bike. I'm at 42x15 which is fine for Leif and Saltzman but I need to hike-a-bike up the firelanes.

    Oh, and this is better if you have a hand pump. Lower your tire pressure as much as possible and then pump it back up when you get back on the pavement.

    i used to take my viscount out on trails. i was actually pretty mean to that bike, although i did love it. the frame ended up cracking near one of the dropouts. that's when i realized i needed a mtn bike.
