    Just want to know if a dent on the downtube is a serious issue (i think it is) and if its possible to still ride the bike with such a malady. I want to make this a 'cross/mountain bike so it would not be treated very nicely. any and all advice helps, thanks.

    I wouldn't fuck with it for cross/mountain. It all depends on the dent, too though.

    well if it's steel you'll probably be fine, if it's aluminum throw the frame away.
