Anyone do any randoneering? It's something I've been looking to get into. I found this list:

Some of the rides are too long for my taste but some of the shorter ones look like fun.

I ride big distances.. mostly solo, sometimes in a paceline with some friends. In fact this weekend I am riding my bike from PDX to Eugene.

I did a couple of fixed gear centuries last year. I'd be interested in hooking up with other people to ride as long as they aren't super low.

What kind of speed are you averaging on a 100 mile ride? I've never done one but have been doing hilly 40 milers in a paceline at about a 21mph average for the past 2 months or so. I should be in shape for some longer distances in a few months.

I did the Seattle to Portland (206) in 10:30 ride time so about 19.6 mpg over 206 miles. On a century, me and a few friends in a paceline can hammer out 4:30 ride time (22 mph.)

A relaxed century is 5.5-6.5 hours ride time.

Of course with hills, it's difficult to infer effort from avg MPH alone...
