I'm having a tough time removing my chain's master link by hand. Tried watching Youtube videos and cruising other forums, but it didn't help. Any tips?
pliers, flathead screwdriver. I suppose it's a KMC chain?
How to use pliers and screwdriver?
is it KMC or SRAM?
KMC = screwdriver + mallet
SRAM 10sp = do not remove
KMC
put in vice and tap it looose.

tappin dat azzzzzzzZZ!!!!
Pretty good video of a dude doing it - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oHg5SJYRHA0
I like my beefy chain's master link. No probs.
PS: Just tap it in. Tippy tap tap.
I still am not understanding. Is there a way to do this without a vise? Specific play-by-play perhaps?
This sort of master link yeah?

^ and here
I just squeeze the link with pliers lined up on opposite corners.
dude...
if its the one that skidmark posted then you use the pliers in the chain. almost like each part of the plier is a tooth. fit them things in the chain and squeze. should poop off. if its the one llike this: http://www.ecrater.com/product.php?pid=3090959# then you need to get the v shaped part off with the pliers then take the plate of with your hands. if its the sram pc-1 chain then you put the chain in both hands and push the plates kinda bending the chain inwards. should pop the outer plate off.
^^^ 1st suggestion worked like a charm. Thanks, man.
sexcellent.
