i used to do the whole home built thing... but then i tried a mac and haven't been back to windows
I would use a Mac but I have two problems.
1. My Mac was destroyed when I got hit.
2. Mac is locking everything down. And I kind of like open source.

Totally. Sure you can get more computing for the buck. But my computing experience has been so much more trouble free since the switch. I wont go back till Apple really messes up.

I think because the popularity is increasing they need to tighten things a little bit. When they weren't as popular it was okay, but now they are getting more attention which usually equals more problems.
it's more than just the cost, it's the customization factor, upgradabilitynessliness, and the all-important gaming factor. and i like that i can build my own shit.
