I think this is a Miyata Team frame from the late 80's. If it is, this frame is absolutely awesome and would make a great road bike or conversion.

My friend just bought this for a touring bike. Gonna be sweet.

Should be a versatile frame.... I wonder if the Miyata race bikes have clearance for big tires? Kristin has a Miyata touring bike which was a rare Craigslist find. Guy bought it in 86, rode it for 40 miles and put in the attic for 20 years and sold it to us for $150. Rides great.

Now I've been riding with a guy who rode for Team Miyata back in the early 80's. He hated his team issue bike and got a custom made Serotta which they painted the Miyata colors on.

    lmao @ zacp/reverandjackson.

yeah i'd be super cautious about riding sherrif stars on the street. they are pretty much as anti-tarck as it gets, you can't even let jonah ride them off a loading dock without hoping for the worst...

    ouch.

I think we can get some decent tires in there. But what so far is a big challenge is we put a Shimano triple crankset on and the bolts for the granny gear are hitting the chain stay. Weird. Either need a longer axle or a thinner crankset.

The frame is nice though, about as light as my land shark for all steel.

  2.

yeah, def be needing a longer spindle. i have a new un54 with 118mm spindle that came offa bike where dude had me swap his triple for a compact "2" . it's yours if it'll help.

    Cool.
I need to see about removing the old BB first. Or maybe just running a compact double. But I think a diff BB would be cheaper and more practical for touring.

Quick, Sugino 75s 172.5 with light use on ebay for $96 with a chainring. Worth it? (I've got long legs so I don't think 172.5s will be a problem)
