so I get a call from a dude who is interested in buying my bike. We speak three times and I call him to confirm this afternoon about our evening meeting. He is carless and coming from deep NE so I offer to meet him at a max station. No show. After packing my shit into my car to accomodate him. I am so sick of flaky mofos. That is all.
Maybe I should take down the ad and keep my bike. Oh, I got a new frame on the way. Woot.
I hear ya... if it wasn't for the fact that I need money I wouldn't sell anything. It can be the biggest pain in the ass.
Welcome to the wonderful world of the Craigslist time wasters.
See MIN, you let them come to you. Don't bend over backwards to accomodate. If they don't want to buy it, fine, someone else always comes along. Whats the new frame?

I got the Scattante SSR. And a Salsa Casseroll steel fork. It's a little project I've got going on... I didn't work at all today at the office, I was surfing the web all day for new parts. I have a buddy who works at Performance so I got it for a little more than free.ninty.nine.
The frame - nothing to write home about. BUT, it is decent and road geometry with more room for bigger tires than my Pista. The only thing is that the 74/74 HT/ST angle was too steep for my taste. So, I got the Salsa fork which is longer in the axel-to-crown measurement than the stock SSR fork (you know, that chrome one which look like the Bike Werks NYC chrome fork.) It's 385mm axle to crown vs the 368mm axel to crown on stock road/track forks. Basically, the frame will become a 72.5/72.5 angle bike with the Salsa fork.
I am envisioning a English 3-speed meets French Porteur meets fixed gear. Stay tuned...
i hate craigslist. some people are chill but others are jerks. if i email you back email me back, even if its just to say you dont want it.
never, go out of your way, never wait when you have other shit to do, if they want it, come here, when I'm here, with cash or fuck off. simple
but I'm am sorry you got craigsFISTed!, it always sucks.
I generally meet good people through Craigslist, but yeah, I'd never go out of my way to sell something.. at least half the people won't show.
