    Save the date: April 27th "SPAND AND DELIVER" Bike messengers (BMs) vs. bike racers (spandors) 1/2 alleycat 1/2 road race Starts at 5pm, costs $5 Begins at Ash st. bar, ends at Tabor (it'll be done before dark). Prizes. Dance party to follow. Choose your alliance!

    How is a RR differ from an alleycat? Just more traffic? What is the mileage looking like for this?

    What happens if I wear spandex, a metal band shirt, oakleys and a messenger bag? Hm. I think the only logical answer is I would implode.

    I wouldn't call myself strictly a roadie, but I own a fair bit of bright spandex. If school does not get in the way ill show up with my road bike. Any details on the race? Lock? Bag?

    OK, so its 5 locations downtown, alley cat/messenger style (pick up deleiver, but no bag required) and ends with some laps around Mt. Tabor. Everyone's welcome. Spandex, messenger, fakenger and everything in between. EX: I think I will ride my road race bike with flat pedals and cages, spandex shorts, t-shirt, messenger bag, HR strap over t-shirt and maybe other things. It will start at 5 and finish before dark, but probably 1 or 2 hours long.

    plus messengers verse bike racers? i know/have met at the track quite a few people who do both, and fucking well, so that was confusing too.

    yeah, i'm pretty confused and weirded out. is messenger a category that you "enter as", or do you have to be a working messenger/exenger?

    and uh, yeah seeing people like zak who are working messengers and track racers at the same time... leaves me real confused too.

    If we rig a Ladd's alleycat I can probably beat him. I rode the whole web about 30 times today. Cuting the corners as close as I could and sprinting the straights.

    Incidentally I'm pretty sure one guy thought it was like Groundhog's Day, because every time I passed him on his porch, he progressively got more and more confused looking.
