So if you like to crank out some miles, come check out this ride....

I've posted on Bikeportland.org and FGG. Come check it out.

    May 4th @ the Waterfront fountain. 10am...Roll out @ 10:15

Destanation: Sauvies Island......Via....NW, Montomery Park, Hwy 30, do the loop and return.
(We could return over the St.Johns Bridge to change it up, or return the same way)

I will be doing this ride the 1st Sunday of each month, but a different route 40-50+ miles.

FIXEDGEAR worship...........Come ride and check out other riders!!

Other riders may be doing a shorter/slower ride.......take your pick, just get out and ride.
Also if your friend rides a geared bike, bring him along....better keep that freewheel quiet....hahaha

    This is a un-organized ride.
If you wear a helmet fine, if you dont thats fine also.
Ride safe and have a good time.

  1.

oh word. Last ride was fast and fun, I've always wanted to get up to Sauvies, too.

    word life!

  3.

Well, looks like I'm gonna be busy on sunday, so I won't make this. Sucks, because I'm leaving Portland for the summer on the 19th, so I won't be able to do this epic ride again until the fall...

I love their bike paths along the river.....so pleasant.

i so want to come to this...but i'll be at the beach...doing homework, playing Guitar Hero, skinny dipping in a hot tub and what!? NOT RIDING MY BIKE. *gasp*

So, if all goes well we should organize many rides out there ja?

Hey no problem Brian...friends, is friends... Music is a good thing. I'll try and hit another Sunday in the next few weeks.
I need to go more than once a month...A ride up to the Zoo would be good, via the Rose Garden?

You said you went up that way last week or so. I Havent rode up there on my fixed....me and my brother rode in from Hillsboro once last year.
We rode from his house to my house to check out each others commute. Its funny because he live's right by the MAX out on that side, and I'm at 122nd and Burnside.

ok sweeeet. Yes it would be really nice if someone with a car could meet us up there and let me draft off of them....i've ALWAYS wanted to do that on a fixie. I just have to trust that the driver understands not to slam on the fucking breaks...and i would totally be rockin a helmet for that.

Going back to phoenix, the city pretty much sucks but at least there's a lot of roads to ride north of town. I need to start staying in Portland for the summer but I need a place to stay/work...

  8.

huh, i could go. i've been meaning to go and seek out morels, stinging nettle (the roots are good for tea and edible if cooked right) and such....49x16 is probably too big, though, right? i've gone into the hills outside of downtown just once and had to walk up a hill that one time. it's the first time in my life i've ever walked a hill.

Hey walter, I forgot the other young kids name?

Anyway me and crosset waited at the store, you guys must have just went up and over the bridge. Didnt meant to split up. Me and crosset were feeling it. Had a good run. I think it was about 50 miles, round trip to waterfront. I did 64 mile's from my place and back.
So for those that didnt go there was 6 of us total.

Damm it was a nice day....So we saw two girls on fixed before the ride. Are you fourm members? Just wondering.

  9.

    I'm the other kid, kyle.
I hung back with Walter when he got a flat. It would have sucked, but I had my patch kit. He some how got 4 holes in his tube at the same time, but with our combined patching skills (ie none) we fixed it. Then we just rode back the way we came. Fun stuff, we are definitely coming back.

  10.

Did you guys just go back the way we came or what?

yea we went back the same way. Maybe we should exchange numbers, next time. Just incase something like that happens again. We were going to go back but we were at the store for about 20-30 minutes. Got a call from my brother and he already went over the bridge and was heading back. Glad everything worked out.
