Hm, its a aluminum conversion with a CF fork. I mean 350 is pretty cheap for a complete set up, you could do a whole lot worse, but def check it out damage

    good deal?

Not a good deal at all. It's a Wall Mart/Fred Meyer bike stripped, repainted with some okay parts on it. Look a little closer at the drop outs. If i were you,i wouldn't buy it. It could also be one of those weird frames that are made for a coaster brake.

I'd ask what it is. Those dropouts combined with that tubing is very weird. Most bikes with semi-horizontal drops are old and dont have tubes like that. But who knows there are millions of bikes out there.

I cant see from the pick but is there a derailleur hanger on the drops?

it's worked every time I've used it. put it on at night, and by the next night it should be fine.

Hairspray has worked for me. 50/50 alcohol/water has worked for me. A metal chopstick is a useful tool.

Rubbing alcohol evaporates with a little help from a blowdryer.

Since they re-formulated Aqua Super Extra Hold it is no longer a good grip glue.

Any recommendations on seatposts? I like my older areo Campy Record, but would like something w/o setback. Ideas? I'm trying to keep it "classic" looking. (chrome, no carbon, Easton looking thing) And can I ask why it seems like Thomson gets people a little riled up around here? At least that's sort of the impression I get.

well for one, it would be machined by a middle class white guy which gives way to the whole classism battle. i recommend you find some poor impoverished person to make you an inferior product out of a stick of bamboo. you can pay him a rediculiously high wage for this inferior seatpost coz white guilt.

i frankly don't know why the seatpost being machined out of a solid piece of aluminum would be a good or bad thing. they do use it as a selling point tho although i don't know why.

i would guess that like cold-forging, ductility would be less than hot-forging (which gives you a uniform grain structure), resulting in a stiffer seatpost. it also might be lighter.

i don't know why people wouldn't like it. machining a seatpost out of aluminum seems wasteful as fuck but all the residual metal gets recycled anyway.. so i don't know.

what are you even trying to say here. no one buys an inferior product because of "white guilt". besides, this isn't the measure 66 thread, we are talking about seatposts.

but i'll bite, so here is my reply. even if white people do pander to everyone else, why is that a bad thing? we live in a white supremacist society, not because whitey is out to get everyone else, but because there's a white guy up there who wants to stay in charge and he will stay that way by helping out regular joe white people because there are a fucking lot of them. so, at least as far as race goes, white people have it the easiest. so white people pandering to poor people is fine. it doesn't hurt anyone.

if you want to reply to this, do it in the "bitchy young republicans on measures 66 and 67" thread instead of this one. we are talking about seatposts here.

I remember someone talking about Suzue jr. hub axles before. Well, my front axle needs replacing now. Where can I get a new one (city bikes?). I live in Eugene right now, so online vendors might work as well, although Portland vendors would be fine too, seeing as how I am in no immediate hurry to fix that wheel up.
