if you have a matching red leather motorcycle jacket and headband, you could probably pull these off

just spray paint them black.
Hm, its a aluminum conversion with a CF fork. I mean 350 is pretty cheap for a complete set up, you could do a whole lot worse, but def check it out damage
just get a kilo tt for that price

good deal?
Not a good deal at all. It's a Wall Mart/Fred Meyer bike stripped, repainted with some okay parts on it. Look a little closer at the drop outs. If i were you,i wouldn't buy it. It could also be one of those weird frames that are made for a coaster brake.

I'd ask what it is. Those dropouts combined with that tubing is very weird. Most bikes with semi-horizontal drops are old and dont have tubes like that. But who knows there are millions of bikes out there.
I cant see from the pick but is there a derailleur hanger on the drops?
no DT cable bosses + threaded HS... yeah, looks like walmart material

I think that bike was is on fixedgeargallery.com and it is indeed a Wal-Mart bike.
you.whaaat:dont know if you saw these, but these are probably better than that bike. scarface is right.

http://portland.craigslist.org/mlt/bik/1521763347.htmlalso, if you dont like these bikes. get a kilo for the same price of 350 ( what marshall said.)
:)
I was looking at these two as well, but I had never heard of either of them.
The first one is a Performance Bike special, and the second is just mega massed produced internet garbage. If i was to pick i would get the first one.
anybody have a REload deluxe courier or courier I could checkout to see if I wanna order one
any tips for putting grips on drops? strong-v. going onto deda pista. hairspray dries too fast. water dries too fast. compressed air doesnt work.
Spit or Rubbing Alcohol.
rubbing alcohol works amazing but wont dry w/o air flowin in there. i used chop sticks.
im not sure how compressed air doest work right because it should work the best. just take it to a shop.

it's worked every time I've used it. put it on at night, and by the next night it should be fine.
luno:compressed air works like a charm
well looks like you got that one figured out all by yourself.

Hairspray has worked for me. 50/50 alcohol/water has worked for me. A metal chopstick is a useful tool.
Rubbing alcohol evaporates with a little help from a blowdryer.
Since they re-formulated Aqua Super Extra Hold it is no longer a good grip glue.
Any recommendations on seatposts? I like my older areo Campy Record, but would like something w/o setback. Ideas? I'm trying to keep it "classic" looking. (chrome, no carbon, Easton looking thing) And can I ask why it seems like Thomson gets people a little riled up around here? At least that's sort of the impression I get.
cnc machined out of a solid piece of aluminum.
yung jeezy pdx:cnc machined out of a solid piece of aluminum.
Not a mechanical engineer, so, why's this a bad thing? Weight? Overpriced?

well for one, it would be machined by a middle class white guy which gives way to the whole classism battle. i recommend you find some poor impoverished person to make you an inferior product out of a stick of bamboo. you can pay him a rediculiously high wage for this inferior seatpost coz white guilt.
wheres delicious to rebute!
i frankly don't know why the seatpost being machined out of a solid piece of aluminum would be a good or bad thing. they do use it as a selling point tho although i don't know why.
i would guess that like cold-forging, ductility would be less than hot-forging (which gives you a uniform grain structure), resulting in a stiffer seatpost. it also might be lighter.
i don't know why people wouldn't like it. machining a seatpost out of aluminum seems wasteful as fuck but all the residual metal gets recycled anyway.. so i don't know.

what are you even trying to say here. no one buys an inferior product because of "white guilt". besides, this isn't the measure 66 thread, we are talking about seatposts.
but i'll bite, so here is my reply. even if white people do pander to everyone else, why is that a bad thing? we live in a white supremacist society, not because whitey is out to get everyone else, but because there's a white guy up there who wants to stay in charge and he will stay that way by helping out regular joe white people because there are a fucking lot of them. so, at least as far as race goes, white people have it the easiest. so white people pandering to poor people is fine. it doesn't hurt anyone.
if you want to reply to this, do it in the "bitchy young republicans on measures 66 and 67" thread instead of this one. we are talking about seatposts here.

my 2 cents.. get a thomson?
I remember someone talking about Suzue jr. hub axles before. Well, my front axle needs replacing now. Where can I get a new one (city bikes?). I live in Eugene right now, so online vendors might work as well, although Portland vendors would be fine too, seeing as how I am in no immediate hurry to fix that wheel up.
marshall:my 2 cents.. get a thomson?
I agree.

citybikes is probably your best bet, they hooked me up with an axle set that worked
Mitch:marshall:my 2 cents.. get a thomson?
I agree.
And City Bike's has a bunch of Thomsons on da cheap.
what really? how cheap is cheap?
like 40 dollar range usually
Just out of pure curiosity, how much do peoples bikes weigh?
I just weighted mine today and its 19.5lbs.
47 lbs. I am all that is man.
My 52 Schwinn weighs about 50 lbs. with a steel rack, and aluminum rims.
KHS Aerotrack is around 20 lbs. with a front brake.
road bike is 21, track bike is 18.5

veloshop has 3 barely used thomsons right now, $35 or $40... all are oversized though so get em for ya mountain bikes. 1 set back, 2 no-set back
My road bike is 20lbs (steel bitches), my track bike is 18 or 19.. or something. My work bike is 23? maybe more. Depends on wheelset and the polo bike? Fucking heavy.
About the same as everyone else for me. My s/s is like 22lbs because it has shitty heavy parts on it, and my track bike is about 19.
12 cuz lumnim
i call bs
Aluminum frames weigh -2lbs. doncha know.
my ftp weighed like 16 complete
marshall:my ftp weighed like 16 complete
My old one weighed in at 18lbs and that was with the tri-spoke,Thomson and Dura-Ace all around. Maybe the Phil and 36h had something to do with it?
What kind of fenders are you guys using this winter? Front and rear? Just rear? None? This is my first winter with my current bike and I'm thinking about getting some/one, what would you recommend?
