their forks are threaded.. like most stuff from the 90s.. gtbs stopped being made in what 99?
Yeah, I've just seen a bunch of threadless set-ups on google images/velospace so I was double checking.

tarck as fuq
oh lawd tanlines
Brown grass, white legs.

Was there a sugar short length maximum in place before the race?
team beer track race video at http:/crankmychain.com
Good stuff. Im glad team beer is keeping the track fun.
Wish I could have been there. Had to be out of town for a friend's bday, but I dont own a track bike atm anyways. =/
Now if only someone would make road event not be such an egomaniac POS we'd be doing great. But I shouldnt complain we have a great track and amazing cross scene for such a small city.
Tabor ain't egomaniac...
I heard through the grapevines that Motordome will be the hot team to watch in '10.
ill 2nd that. james and damien are killers.
I can shut down damien (except in allycats and points races) AND i'll be road fit next year.
Damn it Cam, don't talk shit on Damien, I'm coming to shut you down!!!!
I'm not really.. he's really fast and hard to beat which makes him lots of fun to race. same goes for you too, but i'm gotta cat up for you to shut me down.
Well if you wanna know our secret, it's to start every morning with coffee, a warm cinnamon roll, NYT, Sudoku and KenKen followed by about 20-60 deliveries in the AM, double that every April, July, October, and Januaury. Then about an hour or two of pinball conveniently interrupted during some wailing by an "urgent" delivery, followed by a bunch of afternoon cleanup stops, then some more coffee, some happy hour pints and more pinball followed by a few more beers to calm the nerves. Then if it's a race day(Thursdays always the busiest) i might work Sharkey's share of things as well, then ride a 50/16 out Alpenrose with a spare wheel and my tools/work gear in tow.
If everyone does this I'm sure good will come of it.
I don't know, if there's a better training plan, I've yet to hear of it.
MOTORDOME, where being competitive is second place.
(also, go Blazers)
the fundamentals of track racing are not learned on youtube.
Unless, of course, you're trying to do a youtube coming out of turn 4.
Better training plan:
1.weed
2.rollers while watching tv
3.combination of steps 1&2
4.eat
5.repeat
No one can shut down Motordome... unless perhaps you are a faulty alternator whose pulley does not line up. Anyhow, for a couple of guys that spent the entire winter sitting on the couch eating snacks, playing pinball until the bars threw them out, and not training whatsoever, Corndog and Magnum did pretty well. Let's give 'em hand! I can't wait to see what next year has in store. And also, they are a couple of the nicest guys you'll meet, and never once have I heard them sh!t talk anybody - so please, if you want to "shut so and so down," it'd be cooler if you kept it to yourself or at least not voice it in a public forum. Motordome is not about competition, it is about Travel-N-Fun! And you don't have to be on Team Motordome to be on Team Motordome! Also, Motordome is much more than just cycling, or James, or D. It's about pajama cannons, it's about Pegacorns, and road trips, and chocolate cake, and Griz eating chocolate cake, and brewing beer, and hard cider, and vegetable gardens, and teammate Chicken burying us in pastries and snacks that she is baking in the Motordome oven, or being killed by Greg's smile, or getting GC, or getting GC on Motordome (after we own it) while at a cross race (after we trailer it there), and puppies, and puppies that can EAT YOUR FACE! We just want to have more fun. FUZARD US TO WIN IT MODE!
how does the motordome song go?
its true, after my ritual training over the winter of smoking cigarettes and drinking girly vodka cocktails, griz still beat me in a sprint :(
There should be a motordrome training club. Which consists of riding around around town, playing video games and drinking excessively.
We are sponsored by three different places that bake some great pastries. I will need them if I try Cam's weed method. Maybe we can transform into Team Muffin Tops by the start of next year.
i'm down for pastries.
When is the best time to go to Alpenrose to take the beginner track classes?
I'd like to get more into sprinting and learn what else is out there, but it's almost winter...
And cross season is coming, but it's expensive keeping brakes and rims and spokes in good condition.
Track is over, atleast besides a couple more madison Thursdays and the people still deep in their training for Nationals. You'll have to wait till next season for Wednesday classes. Before then you can learn the basic dynamics of group riding from doing road rides with a team/group.
oh, thanks.
I guess I'll just do sprints and goldsprints and try to get in top shape for next season...
How into sprints do you really want to get? I can always throw some tips out there, or I can give you my coaches number. He'll get you MOVING over the winter. I'm a little biased, but the man is amazing.
honestly, I'm not sure.
I've done goldsprints and love it.
I used to race XC MTB.
I like a good workout, but I find going around in circles and only turning left kind of, well, let's just say "not my thing".
I like the competitive nature of sprints, and I like the 200m format.
I really want to race, but CX gets really spendy and I don't see myself excelling due to equipment limitations and because I really just do it because I love how brutal, dirty and fun it is.
But I would love to get into sprints to see how fast I can get, and I love having something that pushes me to get faster, leaner, stronger, etc.
I also really like training cooperatively and having people to track progress with.
As for coaching, I'll probably pass for now, mostly due to timing, budgeting and geography issues. (I'll be in Tahoe from mid-November through March)
But tips, especially training tips, would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

You do know goldsprints at the bar shares almost nothing in common with match sprinting, right?

Did you know that

thanks guys, I was/am aware.
Yes Joe, I'm well aware that black dudes refuse to fuck with the Power Pad.
It almost sounds like you are going to like road sprints a lot more than track. If you like short track/CX, you probably have a solid LT and some slow twitch in the legs, which is going to help you out on the road.
All us track sprinters do is make 6 left turns, go fast for a couple seconds, and sit on our ass for 30 minutes.
That's why match sprints are my favorite. Usually only a lap and a half of actual effort and I get to stare down people and swerve all over the track like a crazy person the first half. They're great.
youre an idiot.

Eagles. Banned from thee velodromez???
NEVAR!

Candi said otherwise :[
this is what inspired the banning i am sure.
unsticking until next year :-)
you're a week early, track season ain't done till nats is over.
Because everyone on this forum cares about nats...
i hope it rains this weekend while i'm at alpenrose.........
that felt good.
I would love to hear about natz, but no one has been posting anything in this thread. So cyclocross has taken over.
