    any riding in the rain brilliance out there? how to keep your feet dry, etc without going all neon etc.

    Put plastic bags over your feet... Sometimes I just wear them for the hell of it... if you're ever riding up Burnside and you see some dude with plastic bags on his feet that's me... don't hesitate to throw me a quarter or two.

    I got a back fender because me bum was gettin all wet. Plus I have one of those gooch holes in my seat, and a man (read: boy) can only take so much 42 degree liquid round his nether region.

    I ride rain, shine or snow and wear an outer shell jacket almost everyday. In winter I carry rain pats, booties and use a rear fender (occasionally a front one too). I also wear cleats and use clipless pedals. Figure if I am going to have my feet wet and have to change shoes at work, I may as well get the advantages of clipless pedals.

    To be honest, with a bag on, hat on, goggles, gloves, and bent into the drops, I only get wet on my shoulders and knees.

    I had full fenders until a couple days ago, I got sick of them and took em' off. My bike looks way cooler, but im wondering if ill be soaked all the time now.

    Just get wet. The rain is kinda fun, the only crappy part is when it starts hailing and that shit gets in your face. It's Portland...in ten minutes the sky will be blue and you'll be very confused.

    i love the hail. it bounces without getting you wet. and i wear sunglasses always. i learned that from the world poker tour.

    yeah, when I bought my bike the guys kinda talked me into them and I liked the idea and now Im thinkin they look kinda lame. Anyone seen the local-made fenders out of wood? Those things are sweet, but like $120 or something.

    I have a back fender because I got tired of that sweet wet line up by back. Other than that I have a jacket with a hood.

    And unrelated to rain, but completely related to poker, I think we should have a PDXfixed poker tournament. Fatty cigar required.

    as far as the post goes

    I wear gloves a rain shell as my main jacket basically every day. rain pants if its raining. and helmet for sure.

    I keep sks raceblade type fenders front and back on all winter.

    New bike's going to have custom metal fenders though.

    oh and re: "spendy"

    is that a portland or west coast thing? I've always heard pricey, expensive, etc

    We can keep it pretty cheap so everyone can play, say $5-$10 buy in, no limits, with bike parts as recognized betting material if one runs out of cash. I volunteer to do the Rich's run for all the minors. Now we just need a place to go. And a time. Hopefully after next week, since I'll on the wrong coast.
