I am down to do some training rides on the gears for sure. My
divorce finalizes soon and I will be getting my
bike back...(cough). I like the NE Alberta out to Mt. Scott then over to Tabor and back to NE via springwater to Williams. It's about 20 miles. Takes about two hours if you hussle. Three if you flow.

20 miles should only take 2 hours if you're going 10 miles per hour...

then maybe it's closer to 50. I dunno. All I know is it takes about 2 hours at a decent pace and it's a fun ride. I was still fuzzy from no sleep when I typed that in last night. I never really pay attention to the mileage at all.
Old German Town Road out towards the back route to North Plains is another sweet ride.

    50 is over compensating…

If you actually ride up mt scott it may count as a hard hill climb work out. Take the johnson creek way up to through the private neighborhood. Good luck and dont lose your lunch.

grimm, have you ridden out towards Boring from Johnson Creek? Is it hilly? I've not done it, the closest I have got to Boring is from Springwater but someone told me it's a nice ride. My riding partner lives way out in Nopo so we hit that direction and Kelly Point mostly these days and as of late most of my riding has been to the bar and then nice long, flat night rides.

Out to boring on springwater (the trail along johnson creek) is flat, as oregon gets in this area. If I recall, been awhile since I did that. I rode out on spring water, till it turn to gravel, somehow got to boring. Then hopped 26 through Sandy and back into gresham and burnside back into the city. Was 70 something miles.

How many miles are you looking to put in?

Well shit, I may as well add something constructive.

I'm moving to Portland in a few weeks or so and will most likely be looking for a team to race with next year. This past season was my first one racing road and I'm looking to take things a bit more seriously next year.

Anyone race for a team? Any suggestions of which ones to check out?

Yes, and there is an alternate to the unpaved section out there just so you know. I'm passing in and out or I'd remember the route streets. Look it up mapmyride.com. The unpaved section isn't so bad.

Also, springwater is going to estacada soon.

I have the week of the 28th-1st off, so I may try to get out and do a ride somewhere in there. Distance will largely pend on how long I feel like being out in the elements.

After an epic cross season Im debating whether I wanna mess with cherry pie or banana belt. May just stick with putting together as many road rides with friends as possible.

I rode 90 miles on a sidewall-torn Gatorskin booted with duct tape today... no flats.

Today was the best weather I've had bar none since being back in Portland; not cold and a light mist at best in terms of moisture.

I'm looking to put in 3-4 50 mile rides next week. Depends on weather but I should probably make the most of unemployment and ride my ass off.

    Well his name is ckkkgobbler…
But yeah piss off with the anti road bike sentiments. Pretty much any track racer who is not a full time hipster owns a road bike. I know shocking.

Anyways, im back in town on Sun. Not sure if I have a lot of time to ride Sun, but Mon I am def. Mult falls? I want like 70mi (from my place way south). Im coming off my winter break and feel fat and out of shape, so not quite ready for a century. Hah. Id love to do Larch, but its prolly too snowy till march-ish. Maybe a 30mi recovery ride on Tues.
