Thanks man, appreciate it. If someone would have told me I would win by leading the whole last lap I probably would have laughed.
orange:yeah congrats again ben, you smoked that last lap.
seriously though that was pretty ridiculous
ben did you do one of these?
i personally would've modified it to something like the thriller dance in honor of MJ.
I did one of these across the line instead…

walton has been rulin the cat 3s pretty good.
i raced last week for the first time... not sure i am gonna do it again this week. maybe PIR but i'm getting pretty bored with that.
grimm:I did one of these across the line instead…
win.
Yo since I missed out on the TdB ride... I want to do Larch Mtn. soon. This weekend maybe. Anyone in?
i'm still wrapped up in work and actually enjoying it.... so i will need a kick back into things. this weekend would work good.
Sweet. Grimm get in on this!
Tentative. I think Sat im busy.
next weeks the last week of tabor right? i need to give it one more go.
stumptown:Sweet. Grimm get in on this!
what if any of the obra track championships are you doing? that kind of has an effect on when we do this.
Yeah I may be doing that instead of Larch now... I totally didn't realize 4's could do it.
grimm:I did one of these across the line instead…
this was my desktop for a long time
I want to go ride Short Track tomorrow if I can get off work in time.
I bailed on short track, work was running late. Next week.
With tabor series ending Im prolly gonna go ride on Weds.
since tabor's ending this week, we should definitely get a training ride in either this week or weekend.
grimm?
stumptown?
bueller?
buuuueller?
oh and jeremy, i never saved your number. i'm pretty terrible at that, but i'll save it this time.
Well im not training tomorrow, as no since it killing myself before a race. Maybe Thurs or Fri before work. Im readjusting my schedule to get up earlier. This weekend there is a 50/50 chance ill be off bike camping, so im not committing to anything.
I think itd be fun to meet at tabor at like 645 or 7 then ride around the hills for an hour.
How about Newberry to Skyline, this weekend... depends if I feel well enough to try the AVC qualifier race on Friday.
i'm up for all of the above.
although, ben you have a shower at work, this isn't fair.
Because he works at a boutique design firm... shits ballin.
anyone doing the crit on sunday?
Nah not me, gonna be at AVC Veloswap, watching AVC and maybe road riding after.
I think I'm going to hit up the Courthouse Crit. It should be a good time.
maybe.
probably not.
but maybe.
Im gonna be gone this weekend. I wanted to do the courthouse crit. But it sounds like it could be a crash fest with 8 corners.
i kno rite
as if it's a surprise for a crit to be a "crash fest" :-)
Amy:anyone doing the crit on sunday?
I might try and get aubrey to race that shit with me
Fuck the road, come to AVC
Rode out to Sauvies, did some intervals, was riding back. Started one last 1 mile sprint, looked down, BOOM, hit a rock with my front wheel, back wheel popped up and came down on it, flatted out on both wheels and I only had one extra tube.
Started walking down the highway, a STI with 2 Cervelo time trial bikes drives by and kept going... i thought "they probably just laughed. good for them." then they turn around and pull over. I explain what happened, they offer an extra tube, dig around in their car, no extra tube. So they sandwich my bike between their cervelos on top and drive me (Im in the backseat sandwiched between to stacks of carbon wheels) to Fat Tire bike shop , I don't have my wallet, so they buy me two tubes, change one of the flats while I'm changing the other and send me on my way.
FUCKYES.
apparently they recognized me from PIR yesterday, good people.
Take those dudes out for a beer.
it was a older husband and wife. i'll offer, but judging by their possessions, it'd probably just result in them offering to pay the bill lol.
so who's awake and wants to go ride up some hillsb efore it gets too hot out? leaving in 20-30 mins.
I was planning on heading to Sauvies for flat TT intervals... I just woke up though.
I just woke up and I'm heading out to Sauvies. I'll be wearing a Swiss champ jersey, say what's up if you see me.
stumptown:I was planning on heading to Sauvies for flat TT intervals... I just woke up though.
on a cross bike? dood, when you get a proper road bike, you should be fast as fuck.
I do everything on that CX bike... I don't think a road bike is gonna do much besides help me climb hills when I'm on a sub-20lb build instead of what I got now. I'm trying to get a Cannondale CAAD9 for next year... smooth ass welds, stiff bike, last year to be made in USA, shits nice!
those cannondales are sweet. are you after the cross or road?
Road. I've heard nothing but good things about the frames.
Im considering a coast ride and back on the 8-9th. If youre into that type of thing let me know, there is a 50/50 chance we will have to haul our own gear.
NVM, no cat 4's in Twilight Crit.....
hey jeremy, do you think you could give me basic directions for that ride we did with azul? i need a some what decent climbing route and that should work alright.
Yeah. Take 33rd, head a right over the overpass 33rd takes you on and continue until you hit the end where it meets Marine Drive. Go right and right that until it turns into 257th, then take 257th until you meet E. Columbia Historic HWY, the street/road that travels right through Troutdale. Take that until you get to the observation point we were at.
There's some alternate ways to head back if you want to make a loop out of it - check the map around Columbia HWY. And if you really want to have some fun you can jump on Larch Mtn. Rd outside of Corbett and ride that god-forsaken thing to the top. I still haven't done that, but may this weekend with a friend... you want to get in on it?
well, i made a weekly plan for august and saturday is hill climbing, so if that works then yeah.
Seeing as Saturday is the alleycat I may go out Sunday... I dunno.
I need to sit down with my calendar and the obra schedule and develop a plan. Though strangley I feel like things are on track, I took over a week off from training to recoup and and going to start getting base miles in for cross in August by touring and doing epic weekend rides. Gonna start doing yoga weekly and maybe even make my way to the gym after my should more fully heals.
Call me about weekend rides, I want to do some long mileage. You feeling a century soon?
This weekend cant (family reunion). Next weekend riding to the coast (cannon beach) and camping or staying with a pal, then riding back next day. Then following weekend a 4 day trip down to North Bend, OR. Maybe after that do the bridge of the gods loop.
I just mapped out my weekend route, gonna be a double century weekend. I dont know if im ready for this.
